In Portal mode, those are two of the options I want most.
But I also hope to be able to enable 6-player squads and squad-leader-only spawning.
And I hope that traditional classes can be enabled and customised in Portal mode.
So, does Portal mode allow these things?
battlefield doesn't need limited sprint, they had never done that before.
Battlefield had limited sprint in Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142.
Yes, the game needs limited sprint - as an option for people who really want it. What Battlefield doesn't need is no option to enable limited sprint.
So, again, can we enable these options in 2042's Portal mode? The game seems to be bombing in reviews. But if it had these options, I would be interested in checking it out.
I don't know how Portal could be a true celebration of Battlefield's history if it's missing key defining features from the series' greatest game.

That's extremely disappointing. DICE never live up to their words given in promotional materials. They said this would be a celebration of Battlefield's history. But since it blanks-out the gameplay of the most popular (by % of the market it released, and by player retention) and revolutionary game in the series' history, it doesn't qualify as a celebration of Battlefield's history. It's more like yet another rejection of it.
Maybe these options get added when they remake some BF2 Maps for portal.
I also want a better reloading mechanic for vehicles too where you have to drive/fly back to your base to reload just like it was in BF2.
I think that would be so much better than the current infinite ammo/overheat mechanics.
