I loved the idea of portal, giving the players a chance to build an experience for others to enjoy. Unfortunately some peoples ideas are not battlefield. I refer to all the farms that keep being added that seem to attract a considerable amount of players trying to level up without kills.(heli farms) The so called hardcore servers in there where damage is cranked up to max so choppers can be shot down with one shot from a pea shooter are pointless too. I was in there today on both versions, console and pc and there's over a dozen servers opened by different people for weapon and attachment unlocks, all with 4 players in each when they allow 64. All I want is a decent game of hardcore, fair for everyone, infantry and vehicles. There's only a few that offer this, GERM, HAPPY HARDCORE and K2C. If you're a farm boy, or girl, or other, try these servers and level up the right way by gaining experience, please.

Portal has been ruined from the jump. It was a great idea, but remains an afterthought. People cry for a server browser, but they have no problem playing AOW and matchmaking like sheep. If portal was more popular Dice wouldn't have to worry so much about balance issues, seeing as the community could have policed themselves, or folks could ave found servers with X (insert for whatever they don't like) removed from the lobby.

I personally don't play portal, but as Psubond mentions you can make your own server the way you want to play can't you?

or you could just build your own server the way you like? no one is forcing you into portal or any of those servers

I personally don't play portal, but as Psubond mentions you can make your own server the way you want to play can't you?

yes you can, that's your prerogative. Unfortunately there isn't a HARDCORE option as yet in the options so portal is the only way to play. The core version isn't exciting enough for us old school players so portal is my home every day. I get frustrated when there's no servers open because all the people online are in the aforementioned.

@Psubond I've tried to replicate the hardcore settings in BF3, the good old days.

@Psubond most players only jump into servers that are half full, which I can understand, time constraints e.t.c. making it difficult to start. When the server reaches 10 a side it fills up rapidly and then there's a queue to get in. If the farmers joined, quicker fill up more hours playing, happy chappy.

I have never farmed and can't understand why anyone would, so, maybe you're right. They're probably not the right people to have in the server. C'mon DICE, give us a HARDCORE server in the options so I can enjoy battlefield again. I don't have long left.
