I don't want to play some random persons' version of Battlefield with their rules. It is nice to see other people are getting what they want with this area of the game, but portal has never interested me too much. I am buying Battlefield 2042 for the base game.

But those random persons' version of Battlefield was "THE Battlefield" for more than a decade and still is . Not just for me, but for so many.

But as I said before it doesn't really matter which part is more popular as long as people are still buying the game itself 🙂Portal might seem like it will be the most popular part of 2042 if you’re judging that off these forums. I don’t think these forums represent the majority though.
My guess is that portal will be populated with people that are still playing BF3&4 currently. I really think that 2042 will be the most popular for quite some time especially if Hardzone is something similar to Tarkov. People will use the core game to polish their teamwork in a squad for HZ.
Portal is really interesting and I’m curious with what the community does with it. Such a unique situation. Hopefully they update the mechanics in BF3 so there’s toggle sprint, I can’t stand holding shift anymore. Oh, and the hit reg. It’s godawful in BF4.
- @Jesse165 True. People will buy it like anything. I already feel it. This will be one of highest selling BFs ever. I know it. Even with all its issues.
