Great subject @Fringerunner !
But probably also some controversies may pop up (which makes the subject even greater), as the love of one soldier will be the death of an enemy, who then maybe hates that same weapon.😀
So here we go with some of the serious weapons we have had through the years:
- The No4Sniper from BF1942!
It was much like the Martini-Henry from BF1, where we could run with it also as a highpowered rifle with a bare iron sight and one-shot enemies on close-midrange if you had the coolness precision to do so in CQC style. - The M60 in BF Vietnam, until the nerf!
It was honestly totally overpowered. Had a huge magazine and would drop enemies in an instant when spraying your bullets around. Yeah, quite a beast to handle the recoil, but you only needed a few bullet on your target to drop them down. This was probably the most insane full-on Rambo weapon we ever had in Battlefield. The fun lasted until EA Dev team finally nerfed the hell out of it... - The AN-94 in BFBC2 and BF4, again until the nerf!
You could set the trigger mode to be for short burst mode. So running around with that and then just tapping the trigger and you could go on some insane kill sprees when flanking the enemies. Probably the best Assault class weapon we had back then. Load out with burst fire and magnum ammo (BFBC2), and it was a great weapon to run with.
Again EA Dev team stepped in and nerfed it to oblivion due to the many crying... - The PKM in BF2
Had a pretty high damage rate and also pretty good to use on longer ranges due to quite low recoil and low bullet spread. It took horrible long to reload, but rest of the stats and its very large magazine made it a really nice light machine gun to go running and gunning with. - The M249 LMG in BF3
There is no way around this one. One of the smoothest weapons in the game to use for running and gunning. Very high high damage per second in its class. This combined with its clean controllable vertical recoil makes it a great for doling out some severe damage or suppression on the enemies. Long reload time yes, but the magazine was so big that you could go for minutes before needing to find a quiet place to reload. - ZH-29 in BFV
This gun takes out enemies at close range in one shot and max 2 shots when out on a distance. And it's auto reload is fast, so what is not to like. Yeah, you need to deal with the recoil and firing two shots to get the kill when out on a distance, but start low and the second shot should still make it for the torso or head. Just put on one of the stabilizers and you are good to go!

M1907 SL Sweeper from BF1 - Looks great, both long and short-range with high accuracy, and makes a great 'pop' sound when you fire it like a mini Martini,
F2000 - A workhorse with a great reload; the recoil pattern allowed you to transition from hipfire to aimed quite well.
Might as well bring back the M26 Dart glitch while we're at it - I've never killed so many people in such a short period of time, tons of fun.- Fringerunner4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@CyberDyme Loved the AN as well, best mid-range counter sniper in two-shot burst mode (and probably the highest rpm in the game), I'd probably take the BF3 version though, (granted from memory) it seemed to have a bit more velocity.
My second most used gun in bf3 and a respectable 5th in 4.
@TTZ_Dipsy Why limit yourself, throw that dart on a pre-nerf G3 with a heavy barrel while you're at it!
(for the record, i thought that combo was damn near cheating once i tried it and just stuck to the G3)
