My pre order has already downloaded but I would like to upgrade to gold or platinum editions. Is that possible without me having to pay full price?
I don't think there are any current ways to upgrade just yet. Since the game hasn't been released yet you should be able to request a refund and be able to buy a different edition after the fact

Does anyone know if you can download the game on XBox Series X before November 12th if you have GamePass Ultimate? I see the games in the Microsoft store but don't see options to download if you don't buy the monetized game. I'd like to do the 10 hour trial first. Thanks!

Since GamePass Ultimate includes EA Play, you should already be entitled to the 10 hour trial and the pre-load. You may have to search for it within the store.

I think that is correct, however I would have thought you qualify as an early pre-load by having GamePass Ultimate... either way, I think that is your answer.
