I tried normal multiplayer yesterday and didn't enjoy it. The lobby was 2 PlayStation and 5 Xbox players, the rest was PC. PC have too much of an advantage over consoles I think. The cross play should just be PS4 & Xbox One and PS5 & Series X but maybe that's just me.

I understand your logic but that's how crossplay works on all (or most) of the games if I am not mistaken.
Also, ONLY the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions of Battlefield 2042 support 128 player servers.
Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, cap player counts at 64 due to hardware limitations.
They would probably have a problem filling up servers without the console folk, same situation on COD.
- 4 years ago@b0n3zy Nope... Insurgency Sandstorm. The dev said that they don't want to mix console and PC player, as it will not be a fair experience for console players.
This should be the default setting and thinking for all FPS, with the option to opt-in for cross-play with PC players. But we should not be forced, which is the case given the current implementation for Xbox users.- 4 years ago
@FrEaKCH82As I wrote, if I am not mistaken. Haven't played IS, it looks like fun on all the vids I watch on YT, I just don't like the player movement but might give it a go.
Don't get me wrong, I just stated what I think is the norm and I said that I understand his logic. I constantly see complaints about it from console players. If I was playing on my Playstation, I would be complaining too 🙂

It's not counting progression on items AT ALL. IVE BEEN WRITING IT DOWN BEFORE EVERY MATCH.
The only thing going up is over all xp no medals no ribbons NO MASTERY! As sold to us

You can turn crossplay off and getting into matches is no problem at all. Also having crossplay between ps5 and Xbox series x is possible and would require little to no work on EA’s side as well and there are literally dozens of games that do this flawlessly. PC should be PC only in my opinion because it is literally not fair at all when it comes down to it and honestly it’s not because of any of the hardware but the network cards. The cards in consoles are slower than almost all builds that would be on a compatible PC for the game.
yes leave the crossplay option but they can and should have a PS5 and series X and they could even have a server that supports all 4 the PS4 and 5 and the X1 and XSeries. All possible with little to no effort on EA’s side.

I have stopped playing it too. I hope they fix it soon and I hope they count my kills. Also.. nobody is talking about the crappy sound design (feel like im underwater or something)

+1 on the crappy sound design! Feels like there's constantly a bunch of people running all over the place.
But let's not start listing all the other faults this game has at launch in this thread - I am sure we all have a lot to say.
Fingers crossed for a launch day patch and new GPU drivers.
