The issue for Dice/EA is that the PvP players always complain whenever someone is allowed to unlock MP weapons and/or features while playing in SP/Bot/PvE modes. Whoever lost sight of this and signed off on the idea of shared XP is likely long gone by now at Dice. They instead should have done it the same way that COD Ghosts does it.
Since that is the mindset of PvP players and those same players are this title's number 1 market, it stands to reason that you might have better luck asking for a solution that won't * off the PvP'ers... instead of going on endlessly about what has gone ignored for an entire year now, I think the best solution for EVERYONE, is what I've previously suggested.
Start a new thread asking Dice to begin separating the "Unlocks" game so that whatever full xp/ribbons/missions you earn in Solo/Coop/PvE stays locked to those modes and cannot be shared or transferred to whatever you earn in the competitive modes. This will * no one off since the reward systems would be separated and both types of players will each be able to play exactly how they like.
I think that not only would the PvE players really enjoy this since it would mean being able to play the same missions/ribbons and full xp, etc...but I also think that you'd get more PvP support for this idea as well since they'll easily understand that it won't allow you to transfer what they feel is "easy earns" into their competitive arena.
If both types of players support this then the only thing getting in the way is Dice wanting to implement it.
@BigShotttPVP players already have a way to acquire mass amounts of xp and progression (see past posts). The EMP servers in Portal allow players to reach crazy amounts of xp in just a single match, also T1 certain gadgets, vehicles and specialists in next to no time. The servers are full xp.
The progression and xp differences was out the window a long time ago, and its even worse now with these Portal xp boost servers. Solo/coop xp is nothing compared to what you can gain in these.
So the whole PVP vs PVE players argument is totally void of anything reasonable, when PVP players can gain mass amounts of xp and progression in just a couple hours (and I mean a lot, I seen one screenshot showing 173K from one or two matches in these Portal XP Boost servers).
Solo/coop should just not be restricted in any way. There is no reason for it to be restricted when PVP players very easily can surpass anything that can be gained from solo/coop, and in a lot less time.

@Spinner1981Your ideology that you've described is not going to solve the real issue at hand with all of this. Two wrongs do not make a right, after all.
Now, with the real solution I've brought up...the exact situation you've presented would go away completely and instantly. There would be no such thing as farming anymore as the solution completely negates the need for it since there would be no more shared rewards.
This is the very best thing to do, IMO. It makes the most sense and we already know that it is easily do-able.- 3 years ago@BigShottt no because there are players that like to play both PVE and PVP. They should not separate it. It should be as was supposed to be.

PvP players should love this idea as it will not threaten or diminish the idea of competitive rewards...unless of course they are really PvE players at heart who want the xp shared for obvious reasons.
You can't have shared XP/rewards without opening a can of worms that PvP players will not stand for, and that DICE will not do. The sharing idea was a huge mistake that was not noticed until immediately after release when they decided to curtail it. It was an unnoticed mistake that it ever got that far and they did their best trying to figure out a way to balance it out...which in the end really doesn't do a good job at satisfying anybody.
It is a huge reason why Ghosts decided to do it the way I've described...and they had zero complaints as far as the unlock rewards from either PvP or PvE players for that matter.
It makes good sense, offers full game play for bot players just as if they were playing competitive...AND it doesn't make PvP angry since PvE rewards will stay in PvE modes.
If someone can't see the sense in this idea, then they absolutely have unreasonable expectations and just want everything their own way instead of what works for the masses.

@BigShotttYou know what else is "easily do-able"? Just turn full progression back on like it was at launch and the way that it was advertised. Plain and simple. The PvP players knew it was that way when they bought the game, so tough crap if they don't like it. I don't give 2 steaming piles of fecal matter what the PvP players think about it. The game was advertised as full progression across all game modes no matter how you play the game.

@T0TALfps @Straatford87 @PartWelsh
You guys taking notes? I severely hope you are. This cannot go on ignored. You need to change this. This capped progression is all for nothing as people are farming in Portal anyways. And please do NOT GIVE ME
