Well fellas, looks like DICE will never allow us to gain XP/Ribbons/Missions/Unlocks in any of the PVE modes.
Its a shame because the game was sold on the notion that I would be able to have FULL Progression no matter what mode I was playing.
And that as snatched away from us only 2 days.
I didn't realize how sweet COD has been to me until DICE showed me.
At least in Modern Warfare 2019, and in Cold War's Zombies mode, I can level up, rank up, unlock battle pass rewards, unlock weapons and attachments, all without ever having to play a single match of the Multiplayer mode!
Guess I'll be jumping over to MW2, until DICE fixes this crap, if they ever do.

Agreed I refuse to pay for any EA game ever again. After Anthem and BF there is no way I will ever even give them the chance. Everyone always craps on Other publishers yet they at least care about their games. I mean EA even lost FIFA, I expect Microsoft to be buying them next. As far as dead space goes I will play it on game pass as I do not pay any extra for it. I stopped play BF after they locked the progression, I already knew what was up and was just waiting to see. I moved on to better things and figured now I would check back. As I see EA is still crap.
key thing now is they just made the maps smaller. This is due to a smaller player base and the maps being to large. They are already screwed.

Normally I hate COD but as my friends play it and they refuse to play BF2042 (mainly due to specialists and crap maps), I will probably join them until an actual good BF game is released.
Plus in COD if I cant be bothered to pvp at least i have the option to level up everything and do Battlepass in pve modes unlike this piece of lying robbing *.
Im done with this game (due to other reasons other than how they robbed pve players). Will be dead after year 1 pass anyway when it gets abandoned and put in maintenance mode
Yes, you can. I have just unlocked the M911 and the sniper rifle by playing solo (I don't like pvp).

How, i had a couple games in solo/coop earlier and it wouldnt count at all. But either way Im done anyways with this game. I play BF 4 instead again, an actual BF game. Its not just the pve issues and lies, its the game as a whole, it just isnt remotely Battlefield and so many other issues

To unlock each new weapons (this time devs added 3 from Portal, called vault) you have some assignments.
For example, to unlock the GOL S.Magnum you play 1 match in BT, doing 60kills with sws-10 + 100 Enemy spotted using soflam, et voila!
Just played a round and completed two of the weekly missions. My progression bar didn't move and neither was I granted the item I should have unlocked as it was fewer points than what I received in that round.
Every damned time. These updates break something and then we have to wait and hope they fix it.

Okay, so, funny story...
I played on one of my Portal experiences yesterday (basically 2042 solo/coop, but with the larger maps and AI) and I was able to earn ribbons, and complete the M1911 vault weapon challenges. In Portal...
However today, I tried the exact same experience, and it was back to the same limited BS. Couldn't complete challenges, or earn those ribbons...
This game is all over the place man. They sit there and flip things on just for a moment, then they decide that's too much, and turn it off again. It's just like on launch week when they kept playing the same game with progression.
They just dont want us to play how we want. Gotta keep those servers populated so the game doesn't die, right?

Still, any PvE'er is likely grateful to at least have the bots back in this franchise, just the way it always was since BF2.
I can only hope that Dice will not forget our PvE community and will make strives to improve our BF experience soon.
I would happily take an offline mode with no progression with everything unlocked (weapons/attachments/specialists/gadgets/equipment), as long as the XP values on the kill notifications still showed up. Something a bit like Battlefront II's arcade mode in terms of customisation, allowing you to change game modes, number of AI, turn on or off vehicles etc.

But you can already use Portal to do this on any map you desire. Also, all weapon attachments are unlocked in Portal for all the Pre-2042 assets (BF3,BFBC2,1942).
The only thing wrong with Portal is that it restricts profile progression with anything that's PvE based.
New patch drops today. No notes about anything to do with Solo/Coop or Portal restrictions, unfortunately...
I still need to actually test it but I was making a new Portal Rush Mode with Advanced AI and it said I could get FULL XP however it was still Mastery Limited.
I think what they might have done is enable letting us get Full XP even in AI modes as long as we don't make the crazy settings for xp farming.
Even if we can't get the T1 skins... if this works and we still get Full XP for unlocking all the weapons, attachments, and everything else... I believe we might have finally hit the right balance here 🙂
