@SCUBASTEVE120 I didn't even mention the lovely suppression that made it impossible to have 1v1 gunfights in BF3 AND BF4 until they fixed it at some point.
Sure you could've used other guns in BF3 and still be successful, but in terms of "Being the best" M16, M4A1 and AEK were BY FAR the best and easiest weapons to use.
BF5 indeed had decent weapon balance, but it was instantly wiped if there were squads of MMG campers all over the place with laser accuracy and no recoil in every dark corner of a map.

@UP_LordPlumber I thought suppression was cool. And btw they nerfed the mmgs at some point cause the bipod is apparently "broken" and mmg have a ton of recoil. Even the slower firing ones have quite a bit of recoil. Bf1 was worse with the whole m1917 and lewis gun bipod laser beam.

- @UP_LordPlumber O yes, from BF1. The stats online do not reflect that weapons true potential. It's only supposed to be a one shot kill to 14 meters with the hunter variant. I know that thing feels like it can reach out twice that far to get kills. Honestly the 880-MCS in 2042 is overlooked quite often. It got a buff mid S3 to where it's OHK with #1 buckshot was up to 20 meters. Me and my friend Austin tried it and it was so good my friend says "whoa this gun just slaps!!!" We were getting mad kills with it on stranded in the ship.
I wanted to stay out of this discussion because I don't feel BF2042 has done anything special. I really think the series has been degraded since BF4, no more rental servers, no more squad features, single player "Lone wolf mentality" the netcode is a mess and nothing that builds a community.
All missing.
I do like the plus system, so there is that.
