I haven't played in awhile. Maybe 30 minutes in the past two weeks. It is a shame because the game just isn't that good. I understand some people like it, but it is obvious now that a majority do not like the game in its current state. I'm cautiously optimistic it can be improved, but very much disappointed in the launch product, bugs aside.
I'm most disappointed with EA/Dice's tone deaf communications. I don't think fans care to see some concept art surrounding a stale and under developed world on Twitter. Especially when the core experience is missing the mark for so many.
I also would love for them to stop referring to BF players as Non-Pats or No-Pats. I'm a BF Fan. I like Battlefield games and that is why spend useless time on this forum sometimes. I'm not here because I fell in love with 2042's theme, I'm here because I fell in love with several of their awesome games. 2042 is not one of those games, currently.
Part of that is because EA/Dice went all in on developing and marketing No-Pats instead of developing and marketing a BF game. The reason why is clear to me. Specialists will provide microtransaction dollars for EA and behind every specialist is a paying customer. The dramatic drop in player numbers likely is changing their plans and is reason why they haven't said a word yet this year. They are figuring out what to do. I just hope 2042 becomes one of my favorites at some point this year. They have a mountain to climb.
