You are saying just that! Its not possible! All you will have is the same ol'* with a different smell.
Its also why you will never like 2042 or any other future BF until you let go of the past. I had to do it with other games. The industry is just not set up that way. All those devs and work stations cost tons of money that must be sustainable while the competition releasing the latest and the greatest.
Was 2042 an epic fail? Absolutely but not because in its self its not that bad of game. Bugs and issues? Yes and to be expected.
imo they just should have made a PC version and a console version separately.
All they managed to do is fail to appease on all fronts.
Will they fix it? I think so.
Will it be a BF(inset version here) reboot? NO. NO and NO!
