Rao Hack working as intended?

I'd probably have to see a video before I could give a confident response.

But my guess is that between the time it takes you to switch to the launcher + lock time + flight time the heli has enough time to recover from the hack and deploy flares.  This would be a pretty common scenario if the pilot was moving away from you at a pretty good clip.

Yeah I had choppers constantly popping flares after my hacks, made me stop trying. There might be some disconnect between what we see and when thr hack actually 'initiates'

I understand the skepticism to my post and appreciate the comments. I don't have a video from it (maybe I should start recording my seasons for that...), so no proof but I also don't have motivation to lie. 

It happened already 3 times this weekend, I was always on US team and it was the new Renewal map. The first time I thought, that I didn't finish the hack (maybe I a haven't) but the following two times, there was the message, that the hack was sucessfull. The helicopter has not used flares while I was hacking, because I could lock with the rocket launcher right after it. I know, that the time window between hack and rocket launcher is very short and that the Condor and the planes can outfly the rocket long enough, until the hack is over and the flares available again. But these two times, this was not the case. There was no delay between hack and rocket and the helicopter was right above me (maybe 200m) and the helicopter just used flares, as if there was no hack. It happened in three different games, don't know it it was the same pilot. It also happened only at Hokums (maybe one time it was a stealth helicopter but can't say for sure). 

I just wanted to know, if this was intended. If not, I will keep an eye on it, I was just curious because I haven't seen this behavior at other helicopters this weekend and I was very sure, to hit these ones. 

@Captain_TachiIt is common practice among more experienced pilots to pop flares at the possibly last second of the hack to get as much lock-on immunity as possible during flares.

To you on the ground it looks like he is popping flares after the hack but this is just the * netcode in this game that’s causing visual desync.

We are talking here about 1-2 seconds after hack, if anything more desynced it seems to be a new bug that pilots are abusing and should be fixed asap.

oh and btw: don’t get yourself fooled about hacking on transport vehicles, sometimes you hack the passenger inside instead of the actuall vehicle, it’s happens more on the Condor, less on the Hind.

@Bolvard thank you for the information. I know, that this could happen, but I assure you, what I have experienced is something different. If he has used the flares in the last second, I would not be able to lock on the helicopter right after the hack. But this was possible, so he has not used the flares, while hacking. 

Please don't get me wrong, I appreciate the help, but I am doing this with Road for some time now, but in all my 368 kills (and countless hits) with the FXA-33, this has happened before this weekend. It was not a display error, on my screen was the sucessfull hacking message and there was no delay between hacking and locking/shooting. 

I have paused since season 2, so I thought maybe there was something in the patch notes. But if this is not the case, I would consider a bug on someone's end.

@Bolvard Please explain this. It was a little bird these times. Yes, the hack was successful (Gegner gestört = enemy hacked), I instantly locked with the FXM-33 and shot the missile and the little bird used his flares. And I haven't hacked the pilot or other guys in the helicopter, because then, the hack would go faster. DICE, please fix this. Thank you. 

I generally play Rao and have noticed this just recently.

Hmm saw the videos.  That does seem different. 

I wonder if they stealth nerfed the hack. Seems like you are only getting about 5sec of 'downtime'. Not sure how long it was before, but this sort of hack+stinger combo was pretty reliable unless the heli was flying away quickly.

If this is indeed a nerf it's a bit surprising.  Rao was the least played specialist before and now he's lost his most (only?) appealing attribute.  Big nerf for Rao and big buff for heli's.
