We have now had a month of the most player counts since launch. It is time, we need a Server Browser in AOW. Leave up some official servers in each region for each game mode, then use the current AOW menu for Quick Play.
The matchmaking is so bad right now, it is embarrassing. How can we have this many players, I end a round with full teams only to be put in a lobby with 20+ bots to start the next round? What is this?
Think how much easier life would be for Clans / Squads / Parties etc to play together and stay together if we had a decent Server Browser / Persistent Server system. !
Disbanding servers after every round destroys all continuity and adds an unnecessary layer of frustration and of course wastes so much time.
Replacing MM with a SB / PS would be the most important QOL improvement DICE could make.
Imho it would simply transform our whole gaming experience and allow all players to get the best out of BF2042.
This is so true.
I still strongly believe that the introduction of a SB / PS, even at this late stage, would do so much to start to rebuild the whole BF community.
BF2042 and all future BF's need these critical key elements as the building blocks for clans / platoons / friends to regularly get together, something which MM simply cannot currently provide.
Imho BF needs to get back to its roots and do what it does best by providing a solid gaming platform for communities to thrive, anything else is just not Battlefield.
Am I being over nostalgic or do you guys also long for the return of those good old days. ?
Ignoring at the finest, thats what going on here. It sure looks to me that DICE and EA want to let this game die and bury it. I wonder where their fingers are pointing at when they got the question - Who's responsible for the failure of this game.
Looking at the next update 6.2 which is due to arrive in early December, imho the #1 Quality of Life update should be the addition of a Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
It would solve so many of BF2042's ongoing issues and remove most of the frustration caused by the current MM system.
Where would you rank a SB / PS in your list of priorities. ?

There seems to be a lot of YouTubers talking about the next BF and every single one of them are mentioning a SB and Persistent Servers as a baseline. Even LoganTheBrawler has said it!
Because I cant MM into all of the core game modes in AOW, (only CQ, nothing else) I am finding that I have to go to Portal to try and MM into a game. The pro is that there are some servers running which are almost identical in everyway to AOW like Breakthrough or CQ etc. and there is good map rotations. Not like the AOW crap we are having to put up with.
The con is, that even through they are like the AOW modes with AI, they are limited mastery. So progressing through this really long and drawn out battle pass for S6 particularly has been one hell of a chore for me.
On another note, I did watch a YT video from Squid and he has posted up a video of the guy who invented Battle Royal signing his name on the DICE wall, likely going in to give feedback on the next BF BR mode. Not sure how I feel about this. I just want a normal battlefield game again!
Also the lack of content for this season with dragging out the rehashed seasons events, then a longer than anticipated S6 with only 1 x map, not even a re-work of an older BF map to keep the content up and no word of S7 or anything for the future just further shows how much respect DICE has for the BF community. I am thinking the trust is long gone now at this stage.

Imho MM is holding BF2042 back, it simply cannot cope with players needs in a BF multiplayer environment.
For that reason It is very important to keep this thread alive and players should add their support regularly.
It acts as a reminder that we are not happy with the current set up and MM needs to be replaced asap for the good of this game and every BF game going forward.
The sooner MM is replaced the better. DICE please help to make BF great again and bring back the much needed / loved Server Browser Persistent Servers so we can all enjoy our BF gaming experience to the full.

I think everyone would have to rate a server browser as the number one missing item from 2042. It would solve the majority of the ongoing issues we experience after all the updates. That and a ping limiter to prevent out of region players logging into a server. If you have a 300 ping you should not be able to play on servers. Iโm done playing with a 27 ping and a 165 ALAT. Itโs not the players choosing to do that, itโs the horrible MM theyโve created.
Do the devs even look at these forums?
