Re: Aiming Input still feels like garbage on controller especially moving targets

@Lancing975 I almost feel like aim assist doesn't even activate half the time when it should of. The aim assist needs to be improved because frankly it's one of the worst I've ever seen in a fps game. They really should play Call of Duty and take notes from their aim assist as it works very well.

@Lancing975  "They really should play Call of Duty and take notes from their aim assist as it works very well." Precisely!! How CoD could get it so right while 2042 got it so wrong is beyond me. In CoD, I play with crossplay ON and can actually hit what I aim at.

In 2042, I try to play with crossplay OFF because I feel we're (controller.console) all at the same DISadvantage and I have a 50/50 chance of winning a gunfight. Against a PC/m+k, I don't have much of a chance.

COD's aim assist only "works well" if you consider the game aiming for you a good thing.

In COD the AA will literally drag your crosshairs onto the target if your looking in an enemy's general direction when you hit the ADS button. I wouldn't want to see that happen in Battlefield.

@BizzyVaping  You, of course, are entitled to your opinion. I just don't agree with it.

I would accept anything that would correct the awkward/inconsistent/wildly inaccurate console aiming of 2042 right now.

I believe I've played every Battlefield on console and I find the aiming situation that exists now absolutely deplorable.

It doesn't need to be as strong as cod. It should be like BF3/BF4 and not feel janky like it does now. It legit feels terrible to play this game on controller. None of the other Battlefields have had that sticky input feeling like this game.

  • yeah I don't know why they don't fix this. Its such a massive problem yet nothing has been done to significantly fix the issue. I've given up playing until they can fix this

@Lancing975I don't think cods aim assist is that strong. I feel like it's pretty solid. It feels really good. Bf2042s aim assist is pointless. You are right. The aiming just feels so off especially compared to other bf title. Bf3 was my go to game for a long time. I was unbelievably good at that game. Granted I was much younger and my reflexes and aiming was incredibly good back then. Not as much now but in other games my aiming and reflexes are still good. But for some reason with bf2042, I feel like my skills are much worse than they should be. In bf3 I never had an issue with my aim. In that game where I wanted to shoot is where I was shooting 90% of the time. In bf2042, I find myself not shooting where I want to be shooting 90% of the time.

  • I know this has been posted a long while. Anyway, my problem isn't Aim Assist. My main problem is the aiming input, mostly because it doesn't feel as responsive. Now, Linear input is good for that, but it also can screw you over because the Aim Assist doesn't work right for it, or you'll just completely over shoot a player. BFV, BF1 and the past games, aiming input was very responsive. This one, however, is not. And if you want to understand what I'm talking about, look up BF Clips. Most console players on there, you can see how slow their response time is. Anyway, that's the whole reason why I hate the game. To be honest, before Season 6 came around, the aiming input was smooth and much more responsive because the Aim Assist wasn't too strong. I think the only reason it's bad now, is because DICE decided to buff the Aim Assist, and giving us all the past Battlefield's input.

Agreed.  This garbage started with Battlefield 3 and has been getting worse.  Unfortunately COD players infest every other shooter community and try to influence change in those games to being what they are used to.
