@PrivateJoker0013If you did a chargeback then they'll obviously ban you.

Banning you from any and all games you already paid for seems unfair, but thats how they do it on any platform from PSN to xboxlive to origin (I don't understand how that is even legal, but it seems to be)

If they ban you from other games, the appropiate action would be to refund you for all games in your library, THEN close your account.

But again .. it is EA ...

On a note I don't think EA games have any idea what shitstorm they are getting themselves into at the moment with BF 2042 being crappola making people wants their money back.

Normally someone in the investors group would be very upset seeing all that negative response thus the handling of those cases making people even more mad.

I wouldnt wonder if a serious *-slapping is happening at EA as we write here.

  • It never would have gotten to that point  had EA responded to ANY of my tickets that I created.

That is total bulls... that I can't access my other PAID games.

@PrivateJoker0013 that’s what I thought, you have done a chargeback and that’s is what you got banned.

Have you read the terms of service? at this point it is your own fault.

A chargeback is a fraudulent act nothing more and nothing less.

@PrivateJoker0013 It doesn't appear that you asked for a refund in this screencap, it looks like you did a charge back from your bank which most companies will flag your account for and take action against. That is exactly why we typically advise not to do a chargeback here on the forums and to get a refund via customer service instead.

Please note that refunds are governed by the terms and conditions of the platform on which you made the purchase (Origin/Steam/PSN/XBL etc which are all different) so if there's a time played on limitation and you surpass that then you are normally ineligible for a refund unless there are other extenuating conditions.  If you are on PC I recommend purchasing via Steam since their T&Cs are normally more favorable than most for returns.

@0ld_yell0w in my opinion it has bugs and issues but it is not broken but beside this there are terms off service you accepted if you buy this game via origin, steam, epic, Microsoft or sonny.

And every online shop has his own rules for refund. If you think you have the right for a refund you can open a ticket or call the support. But as I said before every one should read the terms of service before you buy a game online.

And a charge back is never a good idea and with that action you’re breaking the contract, this is a fraudulent behaviour.
  • @CountSero  They still sold a non-working product to the man 😉

If you read it, he did actually try to contact the support and got no reply.

It might be legal to close his account, but I would say it cant be legal to let him lose all his other, already paid for games.

@0ld_yell0w Then bring facts why the game is broken? Because I think that is more high expectation what the game in your opinion should be than a Brocken game 😉

also when he requested the refund? In the first 24h after the first start? or after several days with some more hours of play time?

Because when he played couple of days there is no reason that he can get a charge back and not fulfilled expectations and preference are also no reason for a charge back.

As I said before there are Terms of Service, you should read them before buying.
  • I started with contacting EA.  They did NOT respond back to any of the open cases that I created.  At this point my only other option was to dispute the charge with my credit card. (not a fraudulent) as others have claimed.

    Doesn't matter.

If I buy goods on the internet and on delivery the goods are faulty my first course of action is to contact the seller to discuss a refund, exchange etc

If I performed a charge back instead do you think the company would want to deal with me again?

This individual seems to have decided to act without thinking and is now paying the consequences.

  • @CountSero  I doubt I have to find all the broken, missing and lost things in this shoddy game because I havent got the time to make a list that large.

But read this forum, and you can clearly see that what they said we would get, wasnt what we got. That has nothing to do with my expectations.

@Tank2042Man  Im not saying it isnt legally correct, but watching the situation EA isnt doing the smartest thing (when do they) with a game that is in such a bad shape, the support is near to non (as ususal)

At the very moment I can see their PR consultants tearing out hair on their heads in droves for FUBAR, "we delivered something they didnt like, they get mad, we reply in the worst possible way EVER with slapping the customers around and banning them instead of trying to solve the situation in a peaceful manner" - now some * named 0ld_yell0w got all the ammunition he needs to slap back at us when this could all have been avoided with a less strict legal procedure because WE KNOW WE GAVE THEM A PILE OF DUNG.

The game is clearly not broken. You do know hundreds of thousands are playing this supposedly "broken" game every day?

I played all weekend with countless other players so how is it possible that myself and all the other players were all playing something that is broken?

Where you get that number from ? I say less than 35000 is playing this game.

i don't know how long you have waited but what you have done is for EA a fraudulant behaivour.

here the part from there web page:

Contact us for help before you submit a chargeback on your account

If you are entitled to a refund from EA please contact us. Our processes are set up to ensure that all rightfully claimed refunds are granted. We automatically lock any account where a chargeback is requested to prevent fraud. If your account is locked due to suspected fraud, we’ll send you an email with more information, including how to contact us if you think your account has been locked in error.

here is the link to the page:

    @0ld_yell0w

as I said before that are expectation what in your opinion the game should be, beside bugs (as every BF game before) the games run fine for me and many other (constant 60fps with vsync, Ultra Settings, 1080p). I find games in less than 10-20 second here in EU. So, there are enough player to fill the servers here and i play on PC without cross play.

And what OP has done was breaking the contract with the chargeback and this is for EA a suspected fraud.

  • I base it on past battlefield releases when we still had bfstats.com and the steam numbers which are the only numbers we have.

Steam alone has approx 20,000 to 30,000 during peak and that doesn't include Origin which people tell me is the preferred way to play EA games.

PC made up about 10% of BF1 online playerbase as posted a few weeks back.

And then of course we are just talking about peak. There's people constantly leaving and joining throughout a 24 hour period.

35,000... no offence but I really don't think you know how any of this works.

  • While the steam numbers do not represent the overall number of players it is still a very good indicator on how the game is doing. And ever since the release the numbers are declining. This weekend was an exception due to the free to play weekend. But even that did not attract lots of attention.

So to sum up, the game is bleeding players and it will keep bleeding. I mean there are players and there will always be, but for EA and DICE the numbers are way below expectations. At no point during its life cycle this game could build any momentum. And as we all know, there is only one chance to make a good first impression.

It launched recently and now it is slowly dying already. There might be some peeks after new content launches but on the long run there is nothing to look forward for.

  • Maybe read my posts.  I did try to contact the merchant EA in this case.  They never responded and just closed any case that I opened.  (I created 4 cases that they closed with no response)

  • I created 4 tickets with EA.  They just closed them.  No response no nothing!

As a consumer I then elevated it to my Credit Card company.

@PrivateJoker0013  but still there are questions open

when you have asked for a refund and when have you bought the game? where the request more than 14 days after buying the game?

How many hours have you played at the moment you requested a refund?

It is easy to complain that EA has banned you after requesting a refund because this is not true.

They have banned you because you have done a charge back.

And when they closed your tickets with the request for refund maybe it could be that you are not eligible anymore to get a refund.

So here another quote from the link I posted before:

You can make a refund request:
    • Within 24 hours after you first launch the game.
    • Within 14 days from the day you bought it, if you have not launched the game.
    • Within 14 days from the release date if you pre-ordered the game, if you haven't launched it yet.
    Whichever comes first.

And if you still think you have the right to get a refund look up the phone number from the EA support and maybe give them a call so you can speak to a real person.

But at this stage i think you have missed this chance by doing a chargeback and you paying the price because your account is now closed.
