Re: Battlefield 2042 Weekly Radar - Week #3

FAQ

What is the Weekly Radar?

The Battlefield 2042 Weekly Radar is all about keeping track of Weekly Missions, Community Events, Featured Experiences, and rewards that you can earn within a particular week in Battlefield 2042. Each week we'll be including a new thread within our Announcement section of the Community Forums, and you'll see the Community Team sharing it across the web so that you remain in the know about things you can expect to do within the game.

When will you post it?

You can expect the Weekly Radar to be posted every Thursday at 12 UTC when the majority of these changes take place within the game!

Can I get involved with the Weekly Radar as a player?

While still early days, we will be reaching out to regular communities that host Community Events to see if we can support them within the Weekly Radar. If you're fab at creating ingame screenshots, we'll be on the lookout to showcase your creations within some of the assets we create too!

Can I still progress towards last weeks Weekly Missions?

Yes, absolutely. Every Week we will introduce a new set of Weekly Missions, but these will be live throughout the entire season and you can work towards them at your own pace! Bonus Missions are unique to a specific week.

@T0TALfps may i ask you why are you forcing players into different modes to get season pass level points?

in my humble opinion these missions should be doable in any mode you prefer.
I think forcing player into other modes to play is not a good idea especially when you only featuring Rush for four days. What is after the 4 days? Then we need to play custom made rush?

Some players are already struggling to grind enough XP for the minimum required 41+ level of the season pass and they need every weekly to get a chance to get level 100 in the season pass

Last week i laughed about a discussion related to the upcoming weekly missions and now we see in which direction this is going.

Yes, I am very critical but the scale for a season pass with a full price AAA game is higher for me than for a free to play game (Maybe you should consult with your colleagues at Respawn Entertainment who have a good season pass system in Apex Legends)
You need to consider that the player base is crumbling and the Season Pass could be a thing that more players get into the game again. So, make the grind fun and doable, now it seems more that you want to sells skips no matter what may come.

Don’t get me wrong I like BF2042 and I've have been a supporter since the release but you need keep the motivation high and the players busy.

@Adamonic wow Harzard Zone^^ this would be another mission i would pass on

@PsubondIf this is your cup of tea then do it but what if when every player is thinking the same?

this ruins the fun of the other players and I don't do such things.

    hard pass for me

no, i'll play it the way it should be played, i'm just saying if people refuse to play rush (or any required game mode) that's an option.  you only need to do it once

@CountSero I think the reason they put those missions in there is to get newer players to try different things. Sometimes people just jump into one mode and never experience anything else. But by having them get points for trying a mode it may introduce them to something they may not have known existed and if they have fun get them to play more and longer (and then possibly buy additional cosmetics 🙂
  • I for one can't stand playing rush but I completed the mission this morning.

  • @CountSero As Gamerdad pointed out, it is to get new players to try a mode they've not tried before or reintroduce it to old players who forgot or never played, to begin with. Besides, Rush matches are quick usually. I'm not a big fan of Rush but it was easy enough to hop in real quick and get it done. It was the first thing I did this morning tbh. I was like oh, super easy mission, I'm down.

@CountSeroIs playing 1 round of a mode you don't normally play really that odious?

What about players who don't normally heal or, the Gods forbid, repair?

Is it such and ardous ordeal to throw out a few pokeballs for 25 spots when you prefer thermo nuclear, homing frag grenades?

Every Battlefield that has some sort of 'grind' to unlock stuff often took players out of their comfort zone, BF2042 is no different to this.

Simply put, don't play Rush for 1 round, don't get the reward. Your choice and your choice alone.

  • Great content! Hoping these weekly challenges are here to stay!

Just FYI for the new player card badge, Season One: Zero Hour(sword with wings), progression for this badge is broken. Once I achieved Tier 2 and started working on T3, I only get 1 point towards progression per match. At the current rate I’ll need about 2,400 more matches to get the T1 badge.

    Player level S011

    Battle Pass level 57

    T3 Badge Progression 536/1000

@Trokey66 Yes, it is no big deal I could jump in waste my time waiting and its done, but then still there is the problem this is a featured mode. Also, I play my rounds and don’t waste time waiting to get a mission.

yes, you could say this is the problem for the players who didn't have time to do mission on time, what do I care that's not my problem but I think we are still a community that wants to have fun together

Also, this is mission something totally different for me then forcing us to using different specialist, weapon, vehicles gadget etc. (for such things you don’t need a special mode)

The (official) featured Rush mode stays only for 4 days and what is then? New Players or Players late to the season pass need to create their own Rush mode and hoping it is filling up with players? Yeah, sure….

If this where one of the normal weekly missions which is not connected to the season pass, I couldn’t care less but as a part of the season pass which stays for the whole season, every player should have the same chance and condition to do this, like the week this mission is released.

These missions are a bad choice, when you only have 9 missions to do. (especially when there are no additional dailies which can compensate such things)

it annoys me enough that there is a bonus mission that is only doable for one week. This is one level for each week, which players late into the season are missing.

Yes, I know EA\Dice wants to earn some additional money and I'm ok with that but as I have already said before with a full price game you should approach a season pass differently especially if the game is already battered

@XSive_Drez I’m ok with your point of view to get new people in such a mode but then it should be there for the season not only for four days.

Do you think new players beginning to create their own rush server and hoping its getting full when they are a little late into the season? (Maybe they are lucky and find one in the server browser)

Maybe I’m to critical with this but this is still a Full Price game with an additional Season pass and not a free to play game that relies on revenue

But I don't believe anyway that I get a reply from @TOTALfps about this issue

@CountSeroI thought weeklies persist, if that is the case and you miss this Rush, just wait till the next one.....

This is only an issue because you are making it one.

@Psubond I'm not upset it is just another critic to the poor design of this season pass. i think a featured time limited modes should not be part of weekly mission of an season pass .

also increasing XP for season pass level points is a bad design desission

@Trokey66 tthere was no time limit, all mission where still doable after the last DLC was released
but even back than I had my critic with mission which forced you to play different modes, that’s why I don’t have done these missions
  • @CountSero A version of Rush is quite often on the Featured Portal page. If not, then yes, if you want to play you can server browse for it. It's not too hard to find one tbh.

Remember when weeklychallenges actually gave you sometin return like a cheesy skin or something? If you don't pay for the battlepass, what's the point in the weekly challenges? Or am I missing something?

  • @xVulture There are still free unlocks in the battlepass that you can get by completing the weekly missions. After level 50 you get one every 4 levels which is how many levels you get from finishing the missions. Before level 50 it's more frequent.

@XSive_Drez I suppose if the time it takes to reach each unlock level is a week, then it makes sense. I think we know that most people lecel up much quicker than the weekly missions.
I'm not complaining as much as just pointing it out. Add one more disfunction to the game I guess.
  • @xVulture In truth, I don't see much point in going past level 29 if you didn't buy premium. So yeah, I get your point. Although, at 140k XP per level I'm now glad for the weeklies lol.

It's not forcing you to do anything, you can simply do those Weekly Missions or you can continue to work towards gaining Battle Pass Points via natural play. There is always a way to earn, if you don't like doing something then you simply don't need to do it - it however is easier to earn Battle Pass Points should you decide to partake in Weekly Missions.

"What is after the 4 days? Then we need to play custom mode Rush?" - No, believe it or not, there's a lot of thought, feedback, and data that goes into these Weekly Missions not only to ensure they are fair for all, but also to ensure that they are achievable in weeks to come too.

Weekly Missions to some extent are about encouraging playstyles, teamwork, and play across modes. This is something that we had been building upon from Pre-Season Weekly Challenges, and continues on through the Weekly Missions of the Battle Pass.
