- @Frindly-Fire-4 that didn't work for me. I suppose if you could hide your stick somehow it might work but it was a pain I couldn't figure out.
Instead I asked origin to refund me, telling them that I was buying it in steam for joystick support there. I was polite and they didn't mind at all Thank you for your reply, i have wasted three days of searching and trying to make my logitech extreme 3d pro to work but could not make it yo work with bf2042, i think ill wait till they fix it, it jappend in all bf games befor.

I have not yet bought the game or used the 10 hour trial due to Joystick not working.
When it works, feel free to give a review of air, especially jets.
I read about many problems.
I would like to hear your opinion.
I will wait and test befor i can give m.p.o , i found out through those long years of playing bf games that planes fixes are the last thing dice make or change.
- @Frindly-Fire-4 Xbox and ps5 controllers work just have to ensure no other "input like foot pedals are connected"
- @cfraider We are referring to flight sticks, I can get my ps4 and Xbox controllers to work fine. I WANT to use the FF2 flight stick.
Any chance a mod can change the title of this thread to "BF 2042 and Flight Sticks (Hotas)." Would clear some confusion and be easier to search.
Thanks
For me and my search Flight Controller was enough 🙂
- @cfraider Thank you for the reply , i have a logitech exterem 3d pro joystick , it's a one input usb but the game is not detecting it.
I have the same stick. I've used it in every Battlefield since BF2. I'm not buying this game until it works natively without going through a hundred mods and cfg files. I mean FFS we can even go back and fly the 1942 planes but there's no flight stick support?
Any news on adding supports for Fight Sticks? Would be great. thanks
- @Kuiriel Does the joystick actually work through steam?
Yes, per my reddit post that goes until detail describing the steps. In short it was enable forced input in steam for the game, having unplugged other controllers to be sure they're not confusing things at least to start with, and then you set up the profile for the stick in steam too. All plane controller settings and schemes in bf at default, in the other spots where I cleared settings eg on foot I set the schemes to custom so that I don't get the random look up bug.
- @Kuiriel yea too bad I didn't buy it on steam. I was gonna try to add my game to steam and try it but seems like a long shot. so sick of this
****SOLVED ***
Fixed for now , if you use logitech joystick .Search for and install Logitech profiler .
https://support.logi.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360025298053-Logitech-Gaming-Software
you can map keyboard keys to joystick controls
I set all pilot controls in game , example x axis= left /right arrow y axis = up/down arrow .
Then mapped my joystick X / Y axis to those keys in the logitech profiler .,
So I use he number pad keys for pilot controls and then map those keys to the logitech profiler . Simple fix , IT WORKS !
I am flying with joystick now !
- @WienerBeard You can ask Origin for a refund and buy it on Steam instead, they were very accomodating for me doing that. It shouldn't be a long shot. Plus you can refund Steam within 2 hours if it doesn't work. I actually bought it on Steam before refunding the Origin copy, but I checked with EA support first.
Otherwise you can use the emulators like x360 or Xoutput but have to use HIDhide (HIDguardian didn't work for me and this was more frustrating to work through). That si not good. Your Axis input is just 0 and FULL so no precise movements....
It already explained in this thread that this issue is solved by OP and by my addition. You solution is to use Joystick as button .... that is not good for me
- @Kuiriel Hey! This really did work, thanks. I find however that the inputs are not smooth at all, because your basically using a keyboard, with a joystick as an interface so to say. Have you found any way of making the movements a bit smoother? Trying to aim with 100% or 0% input control is very hard with a joystick, and I don't find it very enjoyable.. :/
- @X3D-Phantom I think there's been a miscommunication. I am not using joy2key. I am using Steam where it has mapped my joystick as a Playstation controller (360 controller works too).
If you're using Joy2key or Logitech Profiler to map your axis etc to key presses, then you're not doing it as I've done it, instead you're using it as a keyboard. And that's not much good IMHO, like you said.
I've already explained how to do it a few times in this and other threads, so here's the link to where I've explained it further. As you can see in the comments, another person was using joy2key and ended up using a different solution instead.
https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/qtie5a/joysticks_work_via_steam_controller_works_in/ @KuirielI AGREE !🙂
@KuirielThanks man, this is so helpful. You've no idea (well probably you do, lol) how infuriating it is for a BF veteran jet pilot unable to use his trusty joystick..
How is the joystick working for you now? Does it feel smooth and similar to previous BF games? :-)@X3D-PhantomNobody who wants to use Joystick will ever use joy2key ... just forget Joy2Key
Again Joy2Key is not good solution at all ... its nonsense to mention that solution any more.
HidHide + Xoutput for use with Origin version of bf2042 is perfect solution for me x52 and Logitech Wingman Extreme 3d- @YUG-Danilo Alright, thanks. I'm using the steam version, so I'm going to try mapping it as a ps4 controller instead, hopefully that will work out nicely
