Re: DICE might buff the already insanely overpowered wildcat's dual 30mm cannons 🤦

I will reserve my judgement until I try it this time.

Wildcats often simply failed to do their job so far in 2042.

Even now a well flown helicopter can fly circles around it while the wildcat has either damaged turret or EMP status.

A well flown jet can dump its AGMs and fly away before  the wildcat can  tell where it came from if the map has enough visual cover. In season 5 the Jets will once again have the dreaded rocket pods that can potentially turn the jets into a threat greater than a nightbird.

I have an idea, since nb haters think that nb is too strong against wildcat? Let's make portal server and I will be wildcat operator meanwhile you try to agm me and even Liz same time, let's see how this would work out. I'm noob with wildcat, I have Maybe 40 hours max on it and only sitting as a passenger.

Going 1v1 against wildcat that is aware of bird and is good will win. Why? Cause I won't even get chance to get close, I will loose at least 40-60hp and hovering above you isn't solution anymore. Switching seat to Lizz needs angle and this makes me easy target for 30mm.

The whole point of the nightbird is that it can easily get to the wildcat while the cat is not yet aware of it and do a checkmate.
I hope nobody is suggesting that a Nightbird will do a head on attack on a wildcat from the front and win.

It is not a defense if it is used to attack and counter the thing that is supposed to be a counter of a flying transport.

The main problem is that wildcat is mostly played by noobs. And very rarely, when aviation begins to rage, it is taken by a good good player who will put aviation in its place.
Destroying an ordinary player on a wildcat with the help of a Nightbird is not difficult. I can attach a gameplay video where you can see how easily the wildcat is destroyed.
Sooner or later, even a good player on the wildcat can be caught when he is distracted by another threat, one AGM hit and the wildcat is checked and checkmate. Naturally, this can only be done with the NightBird.

@Man_iLoveFishing The Nightbird's agility coupled with its firepower is insanely OP compared to other vehicles. It needs to be nerfed.

Even if you appoach the wildcat from a steep angle, the wildcat will have more than enough time to launch smokes by the time the AGMs hit (450 m max lockon distance).

In the unlikely case both AGMs manage to hit the target (70 damage points), the wildcat can get 30% of its hp back by the time the jet comes back (you also get to abuse repair tool because jets will take a long time to come back - have to replenish AGMs/flares and would be a bad idea to make a turn close to wildcat, which would make the jet super easy target). After launching the AGMs you would inevitably get dangerous close to the wildcat, making you an easy target. By the way, if you ran out of flares, a wildcat can now launch both AA missiles at you from over 1 km away.

I'm one of the few jet players who use 30mm + AGMs - even this loudout is borderline useless against good wildcat players. By contrast, any decent wildcat player will be able to down a full hp jet (if the jet is flying low, which is necessary when engaging enemy) using the dual 30mm cannons alone.

Ironically, it feels significantly easier to deal with wildcat using a nightbird as long as there's enough cover (abuse the AGMs which replenish much faster + 20mms). Don't get me wrong, it's still much easier to get a nightbird with a wildcat than the other way around..

It's actually easier to deal with a wildcat as infantry (TGM + ntw50 + at mines + emp nades) lmao

@Metal_Daryl97 It may be because I was really out of practice due to my clan always wanting to play Rush these days but I was quite terrified of a certain jet pilot vs my wildcat while I was on that bad company map with the jungle and the lighthouse.
He would fly low enough to make it hard to locate and know when he is coming and kept trying to dual AGM me at random times which depending on what else I was fighting, was sometimes fatal.

It made me play much more defensive while trying to look out for the jet coming, in the end I did not took down the jet with the wildcat but later with another jet after I lost my wildcat to infatry,

I will tell you a very effective tactic against Wildcat, perhaps many of you know about it.
I adopted it from a very good pilot when I was in the Wildcat and tried to destroy it several times and all my attempts were doomed.
NightBird 30mm + AGM aboard LIS. First, after waiting for the moment when Wildcat was distracted, inflicting damage on the G-84, then with a sharp maneuver directly targeting the AGM. Wildcat drops heat and is in the smoke, your task is to fly over his tower to the other side, and not to fly around him to the side. In the smoke, Wildcat will not immediately find out where you are and the turn of the tower will not be able to keep up, since you have flown along a short path, and Wildcat needs to rotate the tower around. Aim the AGM and the damage slows down the turret and creates a dust screen from the explosion, it will be difficult for the shooter to aim at you because of the smoke from the AGM.
At this moment, you maneuver to go to the rear of the turret as the damaged turret can't keep up with your maneuvers and deal 30 mm damage. When the AGM charge is in time, its damage will be enough to destroy the damaged Wildcat.
It is important to constantly deal damage from 30mm in order to undermine the Wildcat's ability to recover.
The tactic is 80% working, in any case, if something goes wrong, you have a chance to go behind a hiding place in the folds of the terrain.

@AlkaniusRUSthe only thing that could possibly turn the tables here is if the Wildcat has that second seat with the 60mm flak pod, which will end up being a popular choice in 5.0 when they will remove the mortar pod 😉

Just the  60mm flak pod is like a 4 hit kill on a light helicopter
