Re: Discarded Conquest remake : Thoughts, Hit or miss??
My thoughts on the map:
- Point E is "pointless", never seen anybody attacking it. A is a little bit better, but both points are just so far away, that they have too less impact.
- At least one spawn point for D is outside of the map, so as soon as you spawn, you have to run at full speed, to reach the map again. Takes 7 seconds to reach, so only 3 seconds left. Bad testing?
- Spawn points at D are a joke, sometimes you spawn in the wide open under the ship, no cover, you just get erased.
- The gameplay in the village ( B ) is much better, I like it much more, than in the previous version. I think, it is working great
- C is a big improvement, much more cover, combat it fast paced here, attacking and definding of the point works good
- The map itself is a little bit chaotic, but surprisingly, it works out at this map.
- Russian vehicles are just camping at E or between E and D, very boring to play against them, no real counter possible
Overall, an improvement to the previous layout, but still some design flaws. But I think it was not possible, to pull something better our of the foundation of the map. Gets a 7/10, while the map before the rework was a 3/10 for me. Just hated it, now I think I can get some joy out of it.
