Re: False positive bans
@zbran1 -
That would definitely be considered an exploit, and be a ban worthy offense.
Same as things like driving Hovercraft up the sides of buildings that a ton of people are doing all of the time should be considered an exploit, and also worthy of a ban.
Anything that gives you an unintentional edge over others that was not intentionally added by the developers is an exploit.
Unfortunately some players, myself included, have not taken part in these kinds of activities, do not use any kind of third party software for any game, do not/have not cheated in their games at all and yet still get flagged by the Anti-cheat.
It's extremely frustrating to see someones money get taken this way.
The forum trolls here do not help matters by constantly saying that anyone getting banned is 'lying, cheating, exploiting' and the like when the reality is that they are not.
From what I've been gathering from information read from various places, a number of people are starting to think that the bans may be related to the solo/coop mode. One of the things that hit BF2042 early were the Portal bot farms, and if they implemented something that detects a player killing x amount of AI within a certain time-frame/match etc, it may just instantly flag that as suspicious.
Even for those people playing the solo/coop mode in a legitimate fashion.
I myself am starting to also think that this may be the case, as I did play a few games in solo as a way to familiarize myself with the weapons/vehicles etc.
And if it is the case that this is flagging people as suspicious, then it's a seriously flawed logic that needs to be fixed.
There's unfortunately no other way to bring attention to the issue than to send in disputes for these bans, and try to locate the point of fault, so that they can be rectified and more people don't have to lose their access to the game.
