Hi all,
sorry I wasn't paying attention to our situation the past 2 weeks. Did Tom Henderson post about this topic yet? I can't find anything in his tweets. Am I blind or did he not post at all?- @gr00bar unfortunately radio silence from Tom Henderson regarding this issue
- @maxeffectiii too bad. I was hoping he could make something happen. I'll DM him; maybe he responds.
- @gr00bar do tell, if he does.
Does anyone know how to formulate a GDPR notice regarding this matter? It seems to help a lot of others prior to 2042. EU only.
@cr0wnPK I used this template: https://www.datarequests.org/blog/sample-letter-gdpr-access-request/
You can use it almost verbatim. There are some fields you can change (name and address etc).
- @LALR_Parser thank you very much. Where do I send it? I quickly read it but is there a part that states, that they have to provide information when they ban me and how they detected that I have cheated?
@cr0wnPK You're welcome. You send it in this category: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=origin&platform=pc&category=data-privacy&issue=request-my-data&isChannelSelection=true
They normally have to hand you all the data related to you (including data sent to their partners like Easy Anti-Cheat) without any further action from you. The request is called "Subject Access Request". I excpect them to hand me the anti-cheat logs related the ban.
So the next day's/week it might get a bit exciting....
As I'm still not excluding the possibility that some or a lot of us got banned for farming XP in Solo or on Portal-Servers. I'm curious to see how EA/Dice will handle the situation which they've recently created by themselves by introducing this weeks "Zombie Mode".
Short breakdown for those of you not following twitter: This weeks weekly mode was a zombie mode which has been massively abused by a lot of players (including former Dice-Devs confessing on twitter making use of it) for leveling up weapons...
Even if the mode was removed today.... the damage is already done...
So I wonder if we might see a lot more new "Banned from 2042" soon in this thread...
And if not then I hope dice will have some good argumentation why...

A EA-representative is getting back to you after you're opening such a request, trying to link you to all the possibilities you've within this to see your data on the website. Be hard and let them know that you want to have ALL data including the data which were going forward and back between EA and Epic's EAC.. In my request I've asked explicit that I want to see the anticheat-logs regarding my account. They have to deliver ALL data within 30 days. Thats the law.
PS: Is there a quote-function in this forum and how can it be accessed ? I see some peopel quoting others while I've to use copy&paste...

@QU4NT0R Hit the "Reply" button and you should see a "Quote" button at the top of the page. That'll Quote the post you're replying to.
@ElliotLH Oh man I'm blind... Must be the age... I've never seen it before you told me... I expected the function being somewhere in the text-editor... lol... dang... Thx for telling me...
@Allothers: At least a sign that Tom hasn't forgotten about us in his today's tweets:

It wasn't abused.
It was played as intended. There was literally no other way to play the mode than the way people played it.
It was an endless horde of "zombie" bots with knifes, that you were supposed to shoot.
How would you play that any different and why would anyone get banned for it?

In cause of many players abused it by climbing on higher grounds where zombies couldn't follow and then killing them from there... It's in my eyes the same thing as hiding behind the pipes on kaleidoscope rooftop during Solo-Breakthrough (before flag was changed) and killing bots by shooting masses of them while proned. So there's no difference... Seen ppl on twitter claiming that they've brought several weapons/gadgets/specialist to T1 while doing so...by the way: Only Mastery 12 could be achieved by killing bots in solo... and ofc a permanent ban...

You won't get banned for leveling up in Zombies - The team admitted this was an oversight

Climbing to higher ground = abuse to you? Seems like common sense with a horde of enemies with knives all around you.
No one got banned for hiding behind the pipes on Kaleidoscope.

And ? Bots not firing at you while you're hiding behind pipes is also an "oversight" by the devs... as you can cleary killing players doing so in a live-match... it's not that bots couldn't kill you there... it's just bots were not doing it.... and that's the point: Players will always use shortcuts if they get offered by the Devs... Permanently banning for doing so and then referring to the "Positive Play Charta" is a slap into the face of the players affected. They haven't banned any players on consoles for the same thing... and the "overseen" zombie mode is even more worth as you could get things to T1 within minutes... and it was used by a lot of players... including former Dice Devs showing it on their twitter accounts...
And another detail: EA content creators / Dice Friends / Game changer who were showing and playing the caleidoscope hightower in "front" of their audience weren't banned for doing so... only real customers who are not getting paid for playing this desaster and also smaller streamers...
Where is the so called "Positive Play Charta" going into affect in this cases ? If you introduce an initiative like this then it must be applied to all players, doesn't matter if on consoles or PC and if someone is a paid content creator and "Dice Friend"....

@BizzyVapingWhich was enough for you to get on the car or on the white box on the ww2 maps and it was impossible to kill you or the turret lol
anyway nobody get ban for xp farm because console players would also get it problem is probably with hacked accounts or debugging tools or any other program that is not whitelisted ea

No one got banned for hiding on Kaleidoscope.
People used that trick on all platforms, and yet there's no reports of any console players getting unfairly banned. (It's all PC users)
A bit of common sense should tell you that the kaleidoscope trick isn't what got you or anyone else banned.

Exactly.
No console players got hit, but somehow some people are still convinced they got banned for farming Kaleidoscope.

No one got banned for hiding behind the pipes on Kaleidoscope. Are you sure about it ? I'm not. That was the only thing I might have done wrong before I got permanently banned... As we were banned in waves I don't think it was an EAC triggered ban for cheating as EAC is banning under normal circumstances instantly...
And read through the Mails everyone received:
Use exploits, cheats, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or problems to get a leg up on others.
- This includes using unsupported mods, unauthorized hardware or accessories, or specialized software to gain an unfair advantage, such as “aimbots” or “triggerbots,” intentionally “boosting” or “teamkilling,” or using exploits to gain in-game items.
So climbing on objects and killing zombies not following you and bringing weapons/gadgets to T1 by doing so is clearly cheating regarding EA's Positive Play Charta.... called "INTENTIONALLY BOOSTING" and also "USING EXPLOITS TO GAIN IN-GAME ITEMS". And even Dice have "overseen" the possibility to get this kind of advantage by climbing on top of containers it's still exploiting... especially if lot of ppl claiming that they've used it to bring their weapons and gadget to T1 and will continue to do so... (at that time the mode was still in the game)...

Literally everyone I know who play the game have farmed multiple 1000's of kills on that rooftop on Kaleidoscope, and no one has been banned.
All the banned players are PC users (Not a single report from a console user). That should tell you that the likelyhood of Kaleidoscope beeing the reason for any bans is basically zero.
You miight have had some software running that the anti-cheat for what ever reason flagged as cheating software, or who knows what could be the cause.
If it was kaleidoscope though, we would have seen console users in here reporting bans and not just PC users.- ZjemCiKolege4 years agoSeasoned Veteran@QU4NT0R Climbing the containers is not an exploit (unless you use the bug to jump in, which is not the case here), it was enough to jump on a car or a tank and you were already immortal
Now its one month later.... I never get all my data cause EA tells me the little JSON is everything they have and there is nothing about a BAN Reason. i contacted now the EU consumer center and they help me... Lets see what i can get.
