The state of 2042 is pretty bad and the design of the game is a giant failure by Dice/EA no doubt.

I don't think that we will get classes back and the existing maps will probably never be fixed to a playable state.

Portal could be our best hope for having a BF-game, but the content is just not good enough (and it is still old content "remastered").

Dice did fix a lot of things just after launch, and perhaps if they start fixing more issues things could improve.

But they really need to rebalance things, otherwise the game will never be saved. All 'passive' things (turrets/dogs) must be nerfed into the ground (no spot at least) and the vehicle / infantry balance must be improved (either nerf the vehicles or redesign the maps), otherwise the game-play will just be too frustrating for people to keep playing the game. New content is vital, but if the game is not fun to play, then more content doesn't really matter much in the end.

Interesting now someone is saying this is only on steam if someone shows off that the older games have less players than BF2042.

But last week all are bragging that BF V has more players than BF2042....

Looks like some players here can't decide what they want and then they turn it the way they need it for their argumentation....

And 2042 Released on Epicgame store , Steam , Origin , Ea desktop , Xbox one , playstation 4 , Xbox series X /S , Playstation 5 so what was your point again ?
I put this out there for the ones trolling that BFV is more " popular " than 2042 on steam specifically wich is untrue because BF2042 player count is more stable across the 24 hours span while BFV have insane rise around 6AM EST wich is Asia prime time .. But at my prime time 18:00 EST BF2042 is always much Higher than BFV ON Steam ... but there is millions of players who play BF2042 daily across all platform so yep ..

Also all your claims about the game are false and base on your own personal Bias if you were to give the game a Fair chance and play with squad mates who actually knows what they are doing you would have fun and find this game way better than past BF

@Stew360What does it matter who or where someone plays. In video he stated clearly numbers while he was recording, I don't know where he is from... But I guess from earth...

Edit: I don't care about 2 or 2142. I don't compare but what I know when I played cs 1.6 for 4 years. I played csgo for 5 years. New is better when frigging core is the same. No nostalgia glasses. I would have chosen any other game over bf if classes were the problem.

It does indeed , Because even when its the Lowest time in my area BF 2042 still does not plummet like BFV numbers does .. So basically what it mean is that a particular region of the world boost BFV numbers for a short period of time .. While BF2042 numbers remain somewhat healthy and stable troughout the day .. thats the point .. An average players play about 2 hours a day and steamcharts isnt total players but concurent players wich mean players who play at the same time when you check it out

Here ill post the Lows of both games wait for it friend Player peak wich mean concurents players playing at the same time is irrevelant .. BFV has HUGE spikes for not long then dips a lots in the low 2000 while 2042 is still stable

LOL planetside 2 have about 1000 to 3000 players on steam and its very alive and receive constant updates .. Insurgency sandstorm is having about 1000 to 3000 concurent players and is doing fine ..

Of course 2042 does not bring APEX legends numbers or Warzone or Fortnite numbers .. But BF isnt a enjoyyable game to watch peoples play as a stream , Battle royal games are the " gold standard " for streamers and the type of game that attract peoples the most .. Also colorfull games with silly outfits and dances .. Because they can get viewership from childs and so on ..

For being 2 months after a rough launch the game is doing fine .. And if the devs still keep growing the game . adding new features , bug fixing , improoving performances etc.. the game will regrow ..

Apex legends as been in a very low playerbase era at some point after a very strong and polish start ... they lost 90% of their players for a time and then look where it is now ? Its one of the most played game on steam not even counting consoles and origin ...

As long as 2042 dont drop into Sub 1000 it would be fine

For a playable game that was sold 10$ vs another on sale at 50$ and one having insanely high Hardware and ram speed requirement and the other can almost run on a potatoe then yes its pretty fine

Also its the average troughout the day that matter and BF2042 as a more stable playerbase 

@Stew360You are probably new to battlefield games, 2042 is for sure worst one they made till now from 2002.
On image you show us here you can see 100k as all time peak for bf2042, thats only cause noone expected that it will be one more fail in a row (bf1 and bf5 were also fails) so ppl like me bought it in good faith and could not imagine 3rd fail in a row. In few weeks you will see that bf5 has more players per day.
I have some +50 friends on bf withing Origin, some 10 of us bought bf2042 and noone plays it any more we are all back on bf4 and bf5 making jokes about bf2042 so that our other friends dont throw $ like we did.

Idk how is it possible that statistics of BF2042 (from Steam) are in red and other titles actually are in green? Perhaps it's a completely irrelevant factor also? I`m not going into numbers because this might be too hard for some to process.

Is it because:

1. Everyone talks about BF2042 (only in superlatives).  

2. The game is so LOVED and players slowly switch to older titles to see what`s all the fuzz about or are being tired and need a break from 2k42.

3. It`s a completely random event, not even sponsored by EArlyAccess™?

Which one is it then?

Or perhaps the game is a travesty as BF, one simple answer. Everyone is wearing nostalgia glasses, right.

@Stew360Yeah they are personal oppinions. As are yours. The thing is though if you scroll through the reviews of the game, and the huge amount of players dropping out each week. You can easily figure out that the amount of people disliking the game for various reason is much does extend by far the amount of people that like the game.
And those that do like the game probably have not been a fan of the earlier franchise.

You are completely missing the point anyway. Battlefield V is a 4 year old game. Battlefield 2042 is supposed to be next gen, AAA developed game. And currently 08:30 CET there are more people playing Battlefield V on steam than 2042. 

One of the most negative reviewed games in history on steam.
I rest my case.
