No not without a ground couter to them ... currently its impossible to take out a jet from the ground in a vehicle or infantry. The AA ranges are too short and the jets too fast for lockon before they get out of range.
Most modern jets don't work with rocket pods anymore.
Look at all modern sukhoi aircraft or the f35.
What they should do is make the 25mm and 30mm cannon more powerfull vs ground targets and infantry.

that could work but theres so much to fix if you wanna make cannons good you need to either add splash or fix the floaty physics and reduce bullet drop and spread. Both of these are directions I think dice is too lazy to take. All I can say is rocket pods are super fun to use and pretty simple to implement they can just copy paste them from helis and do a few tweaks. I wouldn't mind bombs either honestly thats a lot of ways jets can be fixed but not doing anything is the worst thing that can be done thats why i propose the fastest solution.
I don't think jets needs rocket pods. They were OP in BF3 PC CQ when 2 people would take rocket pods on jets and strafe the AA simultaneously before it could even start to lock on. I already have a list of proposed improvements to jets, as well as improvements to AA weapons to balance them out
Basically, improving low speed handling plus making the cannons more accurate and powerful will help a lot against vehicles and infantry clusters. You can't even kill an easy AI ball of infantry with a hovering F-35 at point blank if you keep your reticle on them until the gun overheats.
I agree with others, I dont think it needs rocket pods. However I do think they should give an alternate flight mode to the SU-57 Felon, like what the F-35 has. It seems very favoured towards the US jet rather than putting them on equal footing.
