Re: Liquidators event is nothing but a cash grab by DICE and EA!

Such an event in a free to play game would be normal, but heck - 90% of the things that have appeared in this event are available for purchase with battlefield currency, which normally cannot be collected by just playing. Therefore, instead of getting new maps, weapons, some real content, we are crammed with paid skins 😑 as I wrote, if Battlefield 2042 was a free game, it would be quite understandable ... Guys, it looks worse and worse.

  • Yeah feels like a last throw of the 'dice' to bring in reveunue! It's basically an ingame stroe promo sale. Bundles priced at £14.99 Individual skins £7.99

Be interesting to see the pick up on this as I rarely see custom cosmetics out on the actual field.

i don't buy skins.  i will unlock what i can and if it's useful in a tactical sense i'll use it.  i don't even use the coins i earn in the battle pass.  what is the point of spending money on a skin you can't even see while you are playing?

Same here, I have never bought skins and don't intend to.

And the sad part it, if the game doesn't sell a ton of these cosmetics EA/Dice will probably look at the event as a failure and not do something similar again. Where the real gameplay issues have been outlined in this and other threads regarding the lack of waiting for full teams, the poor squad management options, and such. The general nature of the paid cosmetics is just a bow on a crap sandwich.

  • That's the thing, if it were a F2P game then it would make sense. It's so frustrating that since we already paid so much for this game and then you also have the battle pass and the other purchasable cosmetics, for them to create this event, hype it up with a trailer full of new cosmetics and then to only make those cosmetics purchasable, doesnt really make this "event" an event. They did nothing but give us a, once again time limited as everything else, game mode, and rewards that simply could have been part of the next battlepass, maybe weekly or log-in rewards or something like that.

This event is nothing but a show of "hey we did something", which is nice and appreciated that they are doing something to bring back the player base, but its just badly executed, as everything else has been. Of course, DICE cannot be fully blamed for this, there is also EA to consider unfortunately.

@RayD_O1 Agreed, I don't spend my money on skins or any cosmetics in shooter games. I did this once in Blops2 and ultimately found that after awhile I would tire of the silly looking skin and would rather just see the weapon looking as it was meant to originally.

@Psubond Why buy skins of any kind? They give no tactical advantage and what do you do while playing, look around and say "doesn't he/she look rad in that skin?" "Look at that gun, wow!" You don't even have time to notice or care. It's just a personal thing and nothing more. I'll take what ever I can earn, but I'm not going to pay any actual money for it, especially when a 36 pack of Pepsi just went up $4.00 at Costco and gas is back on the rise!

@Psubond Right I was agreeing with you I wasn't thinking you were buying the skins. I took it you were not buying skins.
