@MADMAC50K The problem is even if Liz does counter the stealth heli what about all other vehicles?

Tanks don't fly or have stealth capabilities neither do jets or air transports.

Liz targets everyone indiscriminately and it's a problem because multiple people with tv missiles end up ruining vehicle gameplay for everyone.

    @SkyL4Ncer21 Same for helos. They can also target all other vehicles and infantry, and even have specific weapons to do so. So if helos can target indiscriminently, why shouldn't infantry? It's a moot point, because infantry AA and AT weapons are pretty underpowered compared to weapons on vehicles that target infantry.

    @MADMAC50KVehicles are supposed to be strong at least to some extent. Even then, infantry AT is not underpowered and is nothing like AA. There are TONS of ways to get very cheap and/or easy kills on ground vehicles.

    Being able to jump out of your team's transport heli or the nearest skyscraper (or now - pondhawk!), fly on top of any enemy tank anywhere on the map, possibly even in spawn, except indoors (where other C5 risks exist), regardless of if it's a sitting duck or it's moving, then slap C5 on it faster than the gunner can react or driver can do anything is not underpowered. I killed an enemy TOR that dared to go outside of spawn in probably less than 20 seconds after it killed me in my Wildcat when I dared to go outside of spawn.
    Being able to hit tanks from any direction for 35 damage because the turret is hittable from any direction, and 44 from behind, without any lock-on times or anything else, and optionally finishing off with an AP underbarrel if it repaired, is not underpowered. I'm sure many people continue to ignore AP underbarrels, but I don't.
    Being able to slow a tank down (or if not moving at the time, freeze it in place), throw some smokes so they can't see where to shoot you, and C5 it, is not underpowered. In my experience I've noticed that often you can even just forego the EMP part, vehicle players will frequently let you get very close if you just throw some smokes to hide yourself from their view.
    Being able to deal 54 damage to a tank that can not hurt you in any meaningful way because you're behind an entire hill 300m away is not underpowered. Just because you didn't kill the tank doesn't mean the damage was meaningless.
    Being able to just plop some mines down on the road, particularly near the enemy spawn, again with close to no risk, and then getting essentially a free kill, is not underpowered. Sure, your mines can get destroyed half the time, that's still half the time you're getting free kills. I've literally seen large groups of teammates just walk over enemy mines on a point we captured and completely ignore them when not in any kind of combat. Not even being near your teammates is safe!

    @Lady_One I agree, damaging ground vehicles is easier than air vehicles, but not quite as easy as you make out. Trying hitting a tank or RAM or Brawler with anything now that most of them run with APS and Smoke combo. And they nerfed the AP under barrel, down to 1 ammo - although I think they just added 1 extra in the latest patch. Shouldn't need to compromise which primary weapon I choose though - gadgets should be more than enough - but they ain't most of the time....

    @MADMAC50KThe 1 AP grenade nerf was quickly reverted, yes, there are 2 now.
    Even in the worst case scenario, you can launch a rocket and then follow up with an underbarrel AP faster than most vehicles can pop APS, and deal around half their health in damage that way. And a ground vehicle can't always reach you like a helicopter can. If they have APS, half the time you will have a decent opportunity to take cover. To be honest, the APS is very bugged, it destroys projectiles right next to the vehicle unlike what its description says, the light is often broken, being nonexistent or red when the APS is on, or green or yellow (red and green at the same time???) when off. That's still not completely gamebreaking.

    They're not helicopters, they won't fly away where no one can reach them and have full health, they'll still be in the general area, still at half health. If you die, you can respawn and hunt the vehicle down unless it completely retreated into their spawn (which is a different issue), or it retreated deep into their non-spawn territory (which I think is fine, and does not completely stop you). Or, you can have teammates. For the RAM or Brawler specifically, you can poke them with the NTW-50 which deals pretty substantial damage (14 to Brawler, I believe 18 to RAM but depends on direction a lot?), is unaffected by APS and can be used from farther away.

    I think in the general engineer case having to limit your weapon selection and sometimes but not always dying 1-3* times to still get the vehicle kill solo (which often nets 2-4 player kills) if there is no decent teammate around is fine. And if there is a teammate around, no AP UGLs are needed, RPGs are strong by themselves. Again, not like air vehicles with 1-2 players in them, where 10 people with stingers spread around the whole map won't kill the attack heli that flew outside the map any faster.

    See the inconsistency? Tor tank is a good damn addition while its powerful and easy to hit aircraft with its turret has a limit and can't go that high not to mention it's limited to three per map and you have to sacrifice a slot that could be used for a regular tank which is better a playing the objective.

    Only one of those things is an infantry weapon - the stinger - which is easily countered by unlimited flares.  The other are vehicles, which are limited and probably already in use/on cooldown.  So yes, infantry should be able to use anti-tank weapons on aircraft in the same way that aircraft use anti-tank ATG weapons on infantry.  That's not inconsistent, that's the epitome of consistency.

  • @MADMAC50K The issue is you can only have a few vehicles per match but you can have 20 Liz without restrictions and that's why it's bad.

    In case you're wondering yes it does happen quite often to me I've been targeted by 5 missiles at the same time in a few matches already.
    And that's me in a jet if I manage to see it and dodge it somehow, now see it from a poor tank user perspective.

    There are matches, where liz players wont simply let you fly. Believe me, i had to change servers constantly because of them. At some point its unflyable. Also what i noticed, lizz players decline targets that are multiple shots. As a nb main with 600h in it, its hell + birds yaw nerf, air can be controlled by one player that is hidden, which can redeploy anywhere almost any second.

    Giving small context: I can dodge most tgm missiles that comes from the front and back, if one comes from sides with full speed, the sound is way shorter, which leaves my reacting time slight to none + all other sounds and noises on top of that. This has to be looked into. Also, imo it should not be ohk cause of desync. And i know desync is also in lizz end, but waiting vehicle in menu is way worse penalty (90secs) than staying alive and being in bsmode for next rocket/try.

    Stealth is btw totally useless dice. I mean, survival time in it is 20 seconds if lobby consists of toxic lizzles.

    Thats why it needs to be looked into.

    come on man, even you don't believe that crap.

    No liz is going 100-0 like the little bird/stealth pilots, and Liz isn't able to smash a ground vehicle in 5 seconds like a jet can now.

    There's your problem, you aren't meant to sit in the vehicle spawn menu the entire game camping for an air vehicle.

    If air vehicles suck so badly because of the evil toxic liz, then pull out a gun and go shoot them and take the flags and win the game.

    the real toxic mindset here isn't "toxic liz" using a weapon that does scratch damage to all but the most manunverable vehicles in the game, it's the air mains who think that battelfield needs to cater to them so much:

    1) they think it should be impossible for an air vehicle to be shot down from any ground vehicle

    2) that ground vehicles like the wildcat in full AA mode being nothing more than a target is fair, with a turret that isn't fast enough, has a weak overheating gun and can't aim high enough to fulfil it's role

    3) that an infantry soldier should have zero ability to even hit an air vehicle

    4) don't care about anything but playing their air vehicle

    5) aren't interested in doing anything but ruining the game for the other 50+ ground players by abusing overpowered air vehicles to go 100-0 for their 2view twitch stream

    6) their air vehicles getting magic flares, magic reloads, magic repairs is balanced

    7) pretend like they care about ground vehicle balance when they spend the entire game in the air shooting them, because they think it might garner some sympathy for even more AA nerfs and air buffs

    That's the real toxicity.

    The NB just breaks the game in ways the devs just can't balance. Because of lack of cover and its agility it will never be anything but overpowered.

    I won't play on any map the NB is on anymore.

  • @sk1lldNow that you kindof mentioned it, the BF2042 maps are poorly balanced in both:

    - size: many of them are too small for proper vehicle gameplay, even the overhauled maps did not improve on this. Both air and wildcat very quickly know where they are on the map, they are that small. There is no surprising an enemy pilot anymore. Unless Kaleidoscope with all the highrise buildings. Not mentioning Hourglass here, because that map has a massive basespawnkilling problem by the AH's and one stretch of highrise that makes it easy to guess where the wildcat could be if it's not in the desert

    - lack of cover against airattacks: I still remember BF4 maps that managed to be alot more balanced in this aspect. Ridges, hills, roofs, houses you could park in, bridges, etc. Very few are to be found in BF2042 if you are in the wildcat or tank. Air having a huge out of bounds red area (for groundforces) to chill in below or above radar makes it all the more sour.

    You leaving the server to find a new game, because of Liz is the same as an infantry person leaving a server to find a new game. Because, of you in the little bird player farming him or her. So, in reality it's an eye for an eye.

    Your leaving the game to find a new one, because you are being dominated by a bunch of good players. If you're not getting your own way so you leave in hopes of finding a game where you can mow down a bunch of noobies. Liz players don't just shoot the rocket up hoping to hit the target it takes practice and skill to get to that level.

    Liz hiding on the map is the same as the little bird hiding, waiting for flares to redeploy and taking cover before going back out.

    Just today there was a player going 20 - 0. 5 minutes in the game. He was in a jet using his rocket pods and I Lezed him. He called me out and left the game after killing him. This is toxic behavior. I have to pause my game play to go take him out, because it takes concentration and effort to take down air vehicles. So Dice Liz is not too air focused, whatever that even means.

    If you ask me the game is pretty well balanced right now. It just depends who's on your team.

    @D-Man3847 You are almost right, difference is. Lizzes can be many more times than me with nb. For me not worth the wait, thats why i leave. And i hide or take cover with bird when i dont have flares, also i dont see the lizz player whole round cause i dont know from which hole/bush its coming from.
