@wildchldDefinitely agree on that. I’m a Battelfield fan, the return of modern era hyped me, the return of bots and cross progression blown me away, so I bought the Ultimate. If I can’t grind the 4 seasons Battle Pass because they cap everything, I’ll feel very insulted.
And the worst thing is, I don’t even understand why they do this, because you don’t get better by killing 1HP bots, and only the solo community is punished with capped experience. It feel like we’re not real players, so we can’t have the whole thing. On the other hand, we’re real buyers, we pay the full price like everyone, but this doesn’t seems to bother them 🤔
What's also something, that is going completely missed, is that they completely half-arsed AOW Solo/Coop. You can't play on the big 128 maps, and you play as the EXACT same teams on every map. Orbital is the only exception, as you play on RUS, every other map is US...
It gets boring real fast, and since they don't plan on re-enabling Portal progression, I don't know what to do anymore...
I can't believe I had hopes and paid money for this POS game. Never again...

Can I earn progress towards Mastery in Custom?
Not presently. Mastery rewards are designed to be showcases for the committed, and until we’ve determined if we’re able to establish further safeguards, we won’t change that. Mastery is earnable in official Portal experiences.
Somehow they ignore the regular official solo

Portal is the perfect mode for "committed" player base and those who follow the IP for years, but ok, let's pretend the "committed" are just a part of the community, a part that have already left the game btw, while we, the "non-committed" ones, try to improve BF2042 by making our voice heard and by giving Dice feedbacks.

Oh, and if those Schmucks want to starting going on about how masteries are for the "commited", and how it would be cheesy to earn them in Portal or T1 in Solo/Coop.

A mode with different scenarios to play, were you, or 3 other people, could go up against AI bots, and the kicker? You could complete all the camo and weapon assignments in it, and cheese your way to getting Gold for all the weapons, in a short amount of time...
So what's the excuse for that one, DICE?

What I can't believe is why they can't (at the very least) apply similar caps to Mastery progression. They said the XP cap works on a minute to minute basis so just do something like that with Mastery achievements. Only having so many kills with a particular weapon for example that would count within a minute, hour, day, etc. is better than nothing IMO while they work on a better solution. In either case, it would be something to offer Portal players who have no interest in PvP or prefer their own custom Experiences, those of others, etc.
.....I could care less about the ribbons personally or achievements that are purely for bragging rights, but not being able to unlock weapons, acc's and such for the 2042 assets and being forced to play other modes you don't want to in order to do that will hamper Portal's full potential and interest from the community.
@Kean_1111Ribbons are a mark of your playstyle. And they bring extra XP. If you have 2 Ribbons T2 and 1 Ribbon T1, it's 4k XP. It's nice to take, the highers ranks are kind of grindy, especially if you're capped in XP.
