Lasering requires team work. A quality I’m not sure 2042 embodies or supports.

Self-replenishing TV-guided missiles are the best... - GrizzGolf2 years agoSeasoned Ace

I know what you mean, but to be fair though even in BF4 playing with randoms was always tricky, that's why the means for good teamplay should be encouraged and explained.
@FlibberMeisterFirst sentence of this very topic. ''Laser-Designating is simply underwhelming, especially when comparing it to BF4.''
BF4 did it much better. Something is wrong with game design in BF2042. Has to do with javelin trajectory, the requirement of line of sight for the jav user and the current flare-system.It's mainly the flarespam in my eyes. It cancels out any coordination.

And why does Blasco's *stationary* gadget even counter it?
This just insentivises camping and harms an already underpowered mechanic.
And don't even get me started on the short range of lasering (even shorter then previously) while the maps got bigger + the tracer dart gun only having 4 shots and only getting 1 back per rare ammo crate.

For real. It doesn't make sense. Actively using the SOFLAM and Tracer Dart should pierce Blasco's gadget.

It's ok that Blasco can help against normal lock-ons, but this should again be countered by the effort of marking vehicles in her gadget-range.
Locking on vehicles < Blasco blocking it < Lasering through it

I like the idea of "active" and"passive" laser-designation.
Keeping "active" track of the target with a constant lock should buff the missile accordingly, while a "passive" kind of "lock-and-forget" should behave somewhat weaker.
