@Trokey66 Which again is easily diagnosed if the game actually told you how many more players were needed.

- @S3SSioN_SoL not necessarily. Bare in mind we don't know what the issue is exactly so not saying you are wrong just that knowing player numbers may not help.
You also have to consider the 'cost/benefit' implications of DICE implementing this. - @S3SSioN_SoL I had rounds with bots (late in the night) which started with around 40 players on each side on 128player conquest MAPS.
Also, this can be more than missing players, like problem of the server host which blocks some players to join (maybe port issues) or unlucky routing of some ISPS which causes not finishing or delaying the join progress and leads to retuning into the main menu. Thank you everyone for your input on this problem.
I was eventually able to get into a multiplayer game by going to the local portal game and asking everyone to try and get a multiplayer game and it worked but everyone is having the same problem and have never been able to get a game in HardZone or 64 player maps. It seems only enough players around to get multiplayer conquest large game working between 19:00 and 22:00 in the evening so a large number of players are needed.
I could see so many players joining the "Waiting For Players To Join" page then giving up and leaving to play another game. This problem is making BF2024 lose players at a rapid rate.
Will this problem be addressed in a patch?
I am in South Africa and we do have local servers but are stuck with "Waiting For Players To Join"!!
COD MW 2019 you can find an instant game with no waiting any time of the day and should on the odd occasion the local players not be enough then it moves you to an EU server game with a 64 or 120ping and the game still plays perfectly.
Why doesn't EA DICE move the players searching for a game to the EU or US servers when there are not enough players locally? This would open up the game to many other countries with a small number of players.
The server browser in BF4 is nice as we can join overseas games as long as the ping is low otherwise you get kicked.
I love BF2042 when I can get a multiplayer game, but it was more fun before they nerfed the Ranger and everything else at patch 3.1. I love the co-op single player against AI but you have to play multiplayer to get weekly challenges and not enough AI fly or drive. I loved it when Ranger would take out the hiding snipers.
- @GhostReconZA Here in EU I still find games in seconds with cross play off in AoW ad as I have written before this can be an issues with local ISPs or server host not only related to missing players in your region.

See you on the Battlefield @Trokey66Games not starting is almost always because players get frustrated with waiting and leave. Imagine being told your meal is on the way at a restaurant but it never arrives, that's what it feels like. At least in a restaurant, you can tell if the waiter or waitress is lying to you. Here you can't see anything at all.

It costing DICE makes almost no sense to me, since it has historically existed in their games, such an implementation should be standard procedure for them. Such an implementation is absolutely necessary for the route they took by opting not to have a server browser, if you're gonna do something, you do it properly. At this point, I just want a server browser and persistent servers back. DICE is not a indie game studio, they're a AAA studio, there's certain expectations and they're not brutal in anyway.
@GhostReconZAThis "matchmaking" thing really does not belong in Battlefield. So many of this game's problems would be solved with a server browser and just tried and tested region selection. I'd love to play Breakthrough on the regular but can't find games for it...
