Re: when are they going to fix team balance?

@murdocklawless I think team balance is much better in 2042, than in previous titles (one of the few improvements in 2042).

In BFV and BF1 balance was often horrible. Spawn-traps happened a lot.

Balance in 2042 is not perfect, but without ranked play or SBMM things will never be totally fair.

And we don't want to much SBMM in BF...

@cso7777 I think team balance will disappear once squad management works better.

Then we will see squads of 4 people playing extremely well together and one team will most likely dominate the other, just as in previous BF titles.

@X-Sunslayer-X Yeah it sucks when that happens.

But compared to BF1 and BFV you can still have a 'relatively good time' playing, even when loosing matches. You just have to give up trying to win and have fun instead...

In older titles you got hammered back to spawn, without having any chance of moving, unless you wanted to get sniped / blown to pieces immediately.

@cso7777True. In previous games being on a losing side meant you were F at spawn. But on the bright side, you could find a decently balanced server and play on it for hours.

I too noticed that no matter my efforts, my team is losing all the time. And if we win, its actually when I'm sweating my sack off trying to carry those blueberries.

Here is a good example I had yesterday. One of the sweatiest lobbies I've seen in 2042. Very low amount of kills and revives. Felt like the enemy team had some MLG Pros playing against me. Always know my movement, and always great positioning. No "long battles" between zergs. Just a quick snip with everyone firing a mag and quietly moving forwards.

@UP_LordPlumberFor me it seems like the number of kills in 2042, are lower than in older BF-games (on conquest at least).

I normally do ok (I'm old and plays casually), but often only gets between 20-30 kills. In older titles it wasn't hard to get 30+ kills consistantly (even for me). 20-30 kills are top 5-10 of most kills in many games?!?

And the number of players that have less than 20 kills in a round are pretty high.

I think the game has become too deadly (large open maps, long engagement distances) and people are playing very cautiously. The weekly missions also ends up wasting too much time (like getting 20 melee kills, x amount of damage with y gadget etc), people sems to gets 'sucked' into doing 'work' instead of playing the game as intended.

@cso7777 I think this can also be attributed to 128 player matches. Its just too many players concentrated in a single area / flag.

In the previous games I was confident in my ability to contest a flag against a group of enemies. In 2042 you're going into the flag area and there could be 15-20 enemy players looking at you from every direction. Once you kill 2-3 enemies, you're literally being hunted by a horde of enemy players which you cannot fight.

I've tried playing 64-player Conquest in 2042 and my theory was right. In there I easily top the scoreboard with around 70-80 kills each game. Its a lot slower, tactical, and slower paced.

As for the missions and assignments - they have been a pain all the way since BF3. For some reason they just keep coming up with these ridiculous missions that force you to go off course just to complete some BS mission for rewards/battlepass.
  • All they gotta do is use the damn players stats, k/d ratio and the like and you can easily make fair teams from that. Like WTF are they using, I just got demolished 6 rounds in a row in rush XL. Pathetic

@Romper4444 first this is an older topic, and is prone to be closed down fast.
In my experience, when you experience a huge imbalance in a match, you generally find a couple of very high K/D players on the more "skilled" side.
In my opinion, most of these "skills" are provided from a 3rd party.

@Romper4444 k/d is very poor indication of skill and balance for BF. This seems to be part of the issue rather than a solution. Players are more concerned with k/d rather than PTFO, which often leads to a map being overrun due to not capping the objectives. k/d should not be used as a measure to determine skill.
