Re: Why can't I do weekly missions solo?

@MDBuzzI'm 55 and been round the block a bit.

I'm not 'bashing' PvE players, mearly pointing out that weekly missions and this one particular can only be done by achieving all the requirements.

None of these requirements can be achieved in PvE so if anyone doesn't want to PvP, they don't get the reward.

If I didn't want to play Rush, should I demand that the requirements be changed to suit me so I can do it on Conquest?

You talk about 'playing together' yet these guys refuse to play PvP for a few rounds with others to get a reward!

If players want all the rewards they are going to have to accept that at some point, they will have to do something they don't want or like to do and step out of their comfort zone and I see no problem with this.

I prefer PvP as you may have noticed but I'm no way against PvE and if there is ever PvE mission requirements, I'll do them to get the reward.

It really is as simple as suck it up and try or don't get the reward. It is what I do.

It seems that you want everyone to get everything even if that means little or no effort at all.

@Trokey66So you come from an era where bots were everywhere, you should understand why people fight to have full progression vs bots. Besides EA promised it and removed it right away, it’s a part of the game.

What I understand by your words, is players should « suffer » to have it all. But it’s a game, it supposed to be fun. You have to suffer if you want to climb up the leaderboard, or if you want to rank up in a league or a ranked mode, you shouldn’t have to do something you don’t want to do in a game, just to rank up the classic level system, a battle pass, or you stats to unlock player card and stuff.

Playing PvE is not a minimum effort, it’s just another way to play. Some people in WoW are leveillng only by doing PvP stuff, some prefer to do PvE, is one of them worthier than the other ? No, and they do both level up and have rewards. In CoD, some people rank up only in zombie, or in casual play, while others only play in hardcore, is on of them worthier than the others ? No, and they all rank up and earn rewards. We can play together the same game, even if you play on different game mode, we share the same enjoyment for the same game. 

If you think people has to do what they don’t want to do to progress, then you don’t understand why some of use like gaming. Challenges based on specific weapon type are the worst, that’s why Halo banished them, that’s why COD players are complaining about some camo that need you to use specific attachments. In a game, no one want to do something he’s not confortable with, or he’ll do it because he is forced to, and he won’t enjoy it at all. And most will just quit the game or get bored.

It can be both fun and rewarding.

@MDBuzzNot sure if you have noticed yet but this is Battlefield, not Halo or CoD. What they do is irrelevant to this discussion.

And yes, I remember when all you could play against was bots hence I now prefer PvP on the whole, but again, this is irrelevant to this conversation.

At no point have I suggested they must 'suffer', that is some grade A hyperbole there!

As @R1ckyDaMan19 says, this is a 'one off' weekly missions so over all progression is once again, irrelevant to this conversation.

Weekly missions/challenges in Battlefield have always had elements that some or all would rather not do and/or present a modicum of challenge. Everyone has aleays had the choice to either suck it up and do them or not get the reward.

Why should PvE only players be any different? If these missions/challenges don't require players to leave their comfort zone now and then, there is no point in them and DICE may as well just give the rewards out as long as you can turn your console on!

@R1ckyDaMan19Weekly challenge are part of the global progression, because they rewards XP, and unlock things every weeks. Both XP and unlocks are progression through the game.

@Psubond I agree, I don't say they are hard, I complain about them not being doable on AOW Solo/coop official server.

@Trokey66Halo and CoD share the same playerbase according to Publishers, and aim to the same people when it comes to the marketing area. So it's relevant to compare with direct competitors. Battlefield 2042 players that are disapointed with the game wil eventually quit the game for CoD.

And I don't want PvE player to be treated differently, I want them to be treated the same, with the shared progression Dice promised. Weekly challenge can be both fun and diverse. Kill X people regardelss of the weapon, kill X poeple in a vehicule, regardless of the vehicule type, kill X people through a scope, regardless of the weapon type or scope, play X objectives (Rush/Conquest/BT), supply X people (HP, Ammo or Armor), play X game regardless the game mode, spot X enemy position, revive X people (forces you to play medic tho), make X assist kills, there are a lot a challenge that can be acheived on any mode by playing your way.

For now, Mastery is capped, XP is capped, and you don't unlock Player card and cosmetics because weekly challenges aren't available in solo, and T1 is locked.

But, full progression and full unlocks in solo/coop/portal isn't something that needs clarification, it was planned, it was implemented on day one, every update full progression on any mode is turned on again, because it's the servers default mode.

Okay buddy I will explain one more time, seeing as you cant seem to understand basic concepts and wont leave me alone. Will do it in this thread because the other thread is not for a debate. I will try to keep it as simple as i possibly can, if you cant grasp the below then there is no helping you understand and you should just go on your merry way.

BF2042 was advertised on official sites as full progress and unlocks on everything and in ANY mode before it was released, this is how the game launched as intended.

The ONLY reason it is not that now, is because of xp farms being created (this is the only reason, not because it was supposed to be restricted etc, because of xp farms in portal, understand?), even though the Ripple Effect Creative Director knew that this could be an issue as far back as July and didnt implement tools to prevent this.

Amazon Prime is a totally different thing and has nothing to do with this. If you cant understand this then just stop, you are not helping yourself and cant seem to grasp the whole situation. Dont sit there being a keyboard warrior calling me a hypocrite when you obviously have not done the research or even know what we are talking about, which is obvious.

And as I said before, we are not complaining about the pvp side of things like the rush one, we will do it. Its the ones like get so many kills with x weapon, that should be able to be done anywhere as was supposed to be, just like anyone can choose to do, like everyone including you. That is called a choice and hurts nobody

your experience gained from any mode goes into your overall experience, but they didn't say you would earn the same amount of experience in all modes nor did they say you would unlock all cosmetic items in any game mode.  you DO earn cosmetics in PvE.  you just don't earn ALL cosmetics in PvE.  they said your exp carries across modes and it does.  they said you could earn cosmetic items in PvE and you do.  and you actually can earn ALL weapon unlocks in PvE so that is a moot point.

i'm not saying you shouldn't be able to unlock all the tier 1 stuff and the weekly stuff in PvE, i'm just saying they never said you could so you are making an invalid argument

They also never said anything will be restricted either to certain game modes, and when you got stuff like "So if your main goal is to unlock everything, don’t worry about which mode you’re doing in, just drop in and have fun" coming from EA/Dice then what do you think people will think when buying the game for pve only?

Add to the fact that the game launched with people being able to do this in pve and custom portal because that was how it was intended, (and as I have to repeat a 1000 times) the only reason this was stopped and had restrictions put in place was because of the portal xp farms. No other reason.

I also bet you that if the xp farms were never a problem and the restrictions were never put in place, by default like the rest of the game was on release, the weeklies would have been able to be done in pve, unless pvp specific

What is peoples problem with the multiplayer though? (In this game or in general)

Why do you only want to play against bots?

Just asking out of pure curiosity as I personally find playing against bots to be about as exciting as watching paint dry

@BizzyVapingeach to their own mate we are all different. Some love pve, some love pvp. I myself love both. I mean I could say the same about why people watch braindead reality tv shows. I dont get them, I would rather watch a hot drink go cold

there is progress in PvE.  you can unlock every single character, weapon and weapon attachment and level to S999 in PvE  the only thing you can't do is unlock skins for specialists/guns or T2/T1 the badges

I think we won't come to a consensus, because the main issue is, as I understand from all the messages, PvE isn't a real game mode for you.

I can understand when you said that nothing is locked because everyone can go to PvP mode to unlock stuff, besides you seem to defend EA/Dice lies, because they don't came with a 255 pages document with all the stuff you can or canot do in the game, but on the other end, you also agree that it's normal to cap PvE XP and rewards because it's unfair for PvP player that you can unlock stuff easily in PvE, and you understand EA/Dice move on that.

So, it's not locked because you have the choice to go PvP, the only limitation is the player and not the game itself, but keeping rewards way from PvE is fair. So, in the end, it's not a choice, because if you want the full progression experience, you have to go the so-called main game mode. But PvE isn't a training mode, and BF has built his popularity partly thanks to the presence of bots and the PvE. Remember that BF is a competitive game, not a PvP game, you can compete vs IA, playing vs real players is just a preference.

Id have to mainly agree with you. 
while I didn’t read it all, there are some weekly missions that are just too difficult to do in MP Mode. It’d be difficult in Solo or Co-Op Mode.

 I remember some ridiculous ones. Like “get 10 melee executions”. Do you know how hard that is? Or “arm 15 objectives on Rush”. That was worse. Especially since it didn’t always count. And especially when there’d be 5 ppl there trying to arm the thing, it’s only counted who “did it first”. And even then it would bug out.

weekly missions are a pain. All the way back as BFV. It’s be the only time ppl would actually PTFO, or PTFC (play the ——— class). Only time I’d get revived, or have more than one person with me trying to arm or disarm the objective.

see, I could ALMOST see the point of those who don’t want PVE to count, yet Battlefield Portal is either full or limited when it comes to things counted. But weekly missions and unlocks generally count. 
so I’m saying if it counts there, in a game mode that anyone can edit to do anything, it should count on solo/coop. 

it personally feels like EA hates anything single player, and maybe even coop.
