1. a good base game with bugs fixed on regular basis.
2. Good marketing (they really didn’t manage people’s expectations at all)
3. Honesty and humility. I.e (When someone says this is a love letter to their fans, perhaps actually listen to the fans, because the lover letter I got was “your dumped”)
4. New ideas and modes of play for sure, (I.e skins, specialists, 128 player servers) but if marketed as X it shouldn’t then be Y. I.e bf2042 is not the same as bf1/2/3/4/5.
5. Community support and tools. Custom servers, platoons, server browser, lots of configuration options, mods, custom map building features etc etc
BF2042 may eventually meet the above, even though I personally think they failed miserable on points …. 1…5 for launch.
In terms of the perfect game, as in a single match, of say a FPS game.
1. teamwork throughout.
2. totally in sync with each other
3. complimentary load outs
4. coms. Laughs, joviality
5. adrenaline!
6. a fricking scoreboard ;-)
for pretty much all games
1. fluid User interface. easy to navigation. As natural and easy as one two, three
2. high FPS, no stuttering like inducing frame rates.
3. No stupidity. I.e doom eternal jumping puzzle bull.
4. No stupidity, just anything patently dumb.
im gonna say that Destiny was pretty much perfect. Season one and half of season 2, after which the grind was just too much.
counterstrike and bf4 are my go to games.
whitcher als was amazing, but I made the mistake of completing every side mission so never finished it lol.
