Recoil
Hello. Look, I'm gonna skip the formalities here. You guys need to tell either your BF2042 team or DICE to fix the vertical recoil in BF2042. Seriously. I've been a die-hard BF fan since Bad Company....
@ATFGunrI get what you're saying, and agree on most of what you said there.
I've played FPS games almost exclusively over that past couple of decades, and military type games have been by far my least favorite excluding the BF franchise. I'm stating that because I've seen lots of different ways to balance things, and obnoxiously high recoil is something I absolutely hate. I play on pretty low sensitivity, and that just means I have to yank my mouse down like a madman in most military type games.
There's all sorts of ways to balance how effective a weapon is at certain ranges. BF does all of them, and that can be a problem. You don't need all these different systems layered on top of each other sometimes. It just muddies the game play and usually makes a game feel more clunky because it has to constantly process everything. Ever notice how simpler games seem to have a smoothness to them?
I think we both agree that there needs to be penalties for just holding down an auto so you can't just laser people, um... like controller players lol. Remember though there's bullet velocity, so travel time, bullet drop, damage drop off after a certain distance, and spread. Recoil can be in the game, but it should be mostly for feel and not looked at as a skill mechanic. It's a "skill", but I would argue that there's much more important skills that actually make you a good player or not. That's my opinion on it.
