I really believe it would benefit all players, especially in regions where there are low player counts.
I can't see any downsides to allowing players to join matches quicker.
I say, more time playing is way better than time spent waiting to play.!

  If Portal Exclusive modes can start with a single player, with bots filling the places, so should all other modes. Its annoying not getting to play certain modes because nobody populates them when bots could do it, and if the game is going, people are going to stick around rather than drop out of lobbies.

    100% this, watching players joining / leaving AOW lobbies is so frustrating, they should make it the same as the Official Portal Experiences.
    
    Once the servers get going they stay populated so why have this unnecessary restriction which forces players to hang around in lobbies wasting time.
