I feel they should implement anything that helps to extend the life of BF2042, it's a long time until the next BF launches.
Reduce Conquest to 8-player (2 squads, 1 each side) for example. Let it fill with AI and backfill with real players as soon as someone starts to search for a match.

I agree reduce the number of players and let it back fill with real players as the match goes on. - Lancelot_du_Lac3 months agoSeasoned Ace@sk1lld I appreciate that it costs money to spin up servers, but the fact that EA lets this situation continue for current players doesn't fill me with confidence that EA have any care for their existing player base.
We have long memories, and the days of automatically buying the latest iteration of a popular game have long gone. Consumers are not as forgiving any more. - sk1lld3 months agoLegend@Lancelot_du_Lac
And yet hundreds if not thousands will pre order the next Battlefield sight unseen.
/sigh - RanzigeRidder23 months agoLegend@sk1lld Let’s hope not. For sure I won’t be one of them.
BF2042 has alienated a lot of the Battlefield community. This already started with BFV and how support for that game ended early.
The key will be how many new players who are unaware of all the previous drama they can lure in. - RayD_O13 months agoHero

Reducing the number of players needed to start a round would be simple to implement and would help all players to get the best out of BF2042 until the next BF arrives.

Really missing the 1-player starts that we had previously on the Official Weekly Portal Experiences. ☹️
I firmly believe that the introduction of 1-player starts for all game modes in AOW / Official Portal Experiences would truly benefit all players and help keep BF2042 alive.

Everyone would benefit from one-player-starts.

They really would, and it would help to keep the game populated until the next Battlefield arrives.
- RanzigeRidder22 months agoLegend@RayD_O1 It should be so easy to implement. It has been there before give it back to us and extend it to all gamemodes!

They were able to do this before so should be a simple thing to do again. One start would be epic if implemented.

Think of how different things could be if all players could just join a game whenever they wanted.
Instead of hanging around getting frustrated waiting to reach the required number, and watching in frustration as players give up and leave.

They couldn't even do 1 player start for Christmas in Holiday Protocol. So lame I used to play most days, now maybe once a fortnight.

DICE please make it happen.

1 player starts would be nice.

It would certainly make life a lot easier for all players that's for sure. 👍

I would imagine you are not alone. 1-player starts in all modes would allow all players to be able to play when they want to.

Please reduce the numbers to start a round. I would not hurt anything to do!

I really hope they implement one player starts in all modes.
Anything that can be done to maintain player retention should be implemented to make it easier for all players in all regions to get into matches.
- RanzigeRidder229 days agoLegend@RayD_O1 One player starts in all official game modes would really benefit the longevity of this game and help the crossover to the next title.
I'd rather start a match with AI bots which will be replaced by real players over the course of a match than sitting idle in a lobby waiting for sufficient players to even start. - RayD_O129 days agoHero
@RanzigeRidder2
Yeah me too, they used to have One Player Starts in a lot of the Official Weekly Portal Modes like World Tour etc......It worked really well and the servers soon filled up with real players.

Mee too.
Let's have one player starts please Dice / EA, come on, keep us going till the next one comes out.
A question if I may, why isn't Hazard Zone in Portal? You know, the one where you have to search and retrieve data drives etc and then extract. Why isn't this available to play against bots ?
Thanks.
- RayD_O127 days agoHero@80uwjx4m1chc
It would definitely help to fill the gap until the next BF is released. 👍
There have been several requests for Hazard Zone to be added to Portal, unfortunately I can't see it happening at this late stage of the games development.
