Opening the weapon classes doesn't hinder team play. Neither is the opening of the secondary gadget.
I agree that the graphical representation of friend and foe in 2042 is an issue.
Maybe "class" based advantages to gadgets could help, like +50m range on Anti-Vehicle Weapons, or bigger range for supply crates for support class specialists, eg.
But I believe this would be complex changes to the system per se.
