@DeepSixxxx Yes replace Hazard mode with Rush.
If this was to happen I would happily save EA/Dice the job of any announcement and would personally contact the 10 players who play it to notify them of the upcoming change.
It just feels like Hazard is empty and I have trouble finding a good game mainly shooting bots, yet in the short time TDM was official in Portal, I could always, find at least 8x8, almost always 12x12, and often 16x16 of 100% human players as there are zero bots in TDM. It was a lot of silent teamwork and is the best gun to gun skilled challenge mode IMHO, even with the smaller 8x8 groups as the maps had been reduced in size, and they had classic maps so it was a great rotation that did not get boring. That said, the respawn was perhaps some of the worse of all modes, as I would often respawn 2-3 meters behind an enemy who had just respawned a couple of seconds before me, and vice versa...thus that could use tweaked...
Rush, well that game had real strategy, and even with bots it was rarely boring, although they needed to add some classic maps as the map rotation was very limited compared to TDM. Rush is what got me interested in Portal, and it is hard to go back to the more chaotic and luck based (getting bombed to death two seconds after respawn, etc) modes of 128x128...as the tend to get boring and repetitive quicker, I believe because bots are more involved, and humans are more challenging and clever, etc...
Hazard needs some work, perhaps change teams sizes (16x16, 12x12, 8x8???), and it needs random team chat as unlike TDM and Rush, it is too complicated to not have team chat. When I went into Hazard with a team using mics, it was hard to lose a single match as it is filled with solo and duo players who can not team speak. I'm not saying eliminate Hazard "royale", just put it on the shelf until March Season 1 massive updates, or even better release back in Portal from now until March to beta test changes to see what works, etc...
The fastest way to re-engineer about a product is to quickly prototype, and then test, tweak prototype, re-test, etc...
Dice could get a lot of useful metric data beta testing Hazard for two months in Portal and then taking the best, most popular version and re-launching with Season 1.
Just a thought but don't be sad Dice, this is just how it works out sometimes...=)
