Hello, yes I agree with the general sentiment here.
I'm very sorry and disappointed with BF2042, that's why I try to recommend adding maps that are missing, I think urban context maps dedicated to cities but without too open spaces, with an Asian setting, would give a touch of diversity and improve the quality of the map list in my opinion.
In addition I also think that we lack maps dedicated entirely or almost completely to the CQC, such as Metro of BF3 and Locker of BF4, perhaps as already mentioned by @BFB-Praetorian, CQC maps without specialist abilities at least the lethal ones, but also without ranger or any bot weapon, therefore CQC with only skills.
On this last thought, I think that BF3 and BF4 were games much more based on the pure skills of the players apart from the motion sensors that I would have removed those, because they are very annoying, but in general it was really just based on the skill of the players.
I think that in BF2042 with specialist abilities there are too many helps that push people to use them, instead of pushing players to improve their skills without helps.
I hope these tips go towards the attention of those who can do something about it.

I feel like DICE have realised big maps and 128 players wasn't the right choice in the end, hence all the original maps having their cap points brought closer together.
To be honest in previous games I felt like 64 players wasn't enough, but I can see that 128 is too many, so perhaps they need to look at something in between. As it's likely to remain 4 man squads, I wonder if 80 (40 per side) might be the sweet spot?
Many of the older maps were based in towns and were much, much smaller than we have now - but they were great, these are the maps many of us would like to see in Portal.
I hope DICE scale things back for the next game, which will presumably leave more resources to make the game look even better?
