Was this reverted in the latest patch? If not, any updates?
Thanks.
Based on the mostly unanimous negative feedback on this, I don't understand why they simply haven't just reverted the changes, pending further testing, rather than leave it as it is, pending a fix. It's like a car mechanic removing one of your wheels for no reason, you complain, and then he tells you he'll leave it like that while he tests other cars with 3 wheels. It's broken - switch it back to how it was while you sort it out!

I hope they will revert this mess sooner than later.
If they leave the VR like it is now, it will be a huge negative advertisement for their next game

They won’t revert it. They have resisted doing hot fixes for everything else they break, and we have to wait for the next update. Even after getting used to it it’s awful and visually contributes to a queasy feeling. I can’t long session like I used to. I have to take breaks. So now I play less, which is the opposite of what you’d think a game developer wants. It’s just another nail in the coffin and further proof that Dice are staffed by idiots. I’ve seen one dev playing, at least he had a dev tag on, so I can’t say they don’t play. He stomped the heck out of everyone which wasn’t very fun for the rest of us, and at the end of the round I had a general feeling that he was a * for doing it. So since they play they have to know what impact their updates have and since they never address it, I have to think they simply don’t care about their player base. Dice sure won’t be getting any other business from me after how badly they ran 2042. I know they don’t care.

Let's be frank here this change was done intentionally, if they would have wanted to improve the weight of guns they would have fixed the sounds of them. Sounds add weight not visual trickery. So, I am unsurprised at their lack of effort to fix this. This was a nerf nothing more nothing less.
- ATFGunr1 year agoLegend@sk1lld That’s a great interpretation and I agree. If they did it in S2 because let’s face it, the small arms have been virtual lasers, it would make a lot more sense. It would have been addressing an issue that the community had an actual issue. It’s been over 2 years and a significant change of this magnitude has really stabbed us all in the back.

- RanzigeRidder21 year agoLegend@GrizzGolf It's the same mistake from BFV all over. Changing gunplay this late in the game's lifecycle, without anyone asking for it.

This is such a bummer. It's the only game I play consistently and there is no way I can play it now, which is made all the worse because motion sickness is due to a design change, not a bug.
I get it, they can't satisfy everyone, but when it comes to a game inducing physical ailment that has been widely reported, you would think they would prioritize the issue as number 1 to fix.
That they haven't reverted it speaks volumes to me about their priorities and what they think of their customers.

I wonder if this was implemented in response to gyro aim? Been looking at some videos of a player using gryo aim and it almost feels like cheating with the limited recoil.

Next Tuesday. Let’s see what actual improvement it will be…

Got to love the vagueness of that announcement.
- YourLocalPIumber1 year agoSeasoned Ace@sk1lld I like how we're getting an improvement for the improvement we got a few weeks ago xD

Improvement of what? Now what did they touch?
- RayD_O11 year agoHero@GrizzGolf
Imho the best improvement would be to revert back to where we were at previously. - RanzigeRidder21 year agoLegend
Dice logic: Apply changes nobody asked for, which break the game, fix it weeks later and then expect to receive credit for it "We listened to the community"
Best ïmprovement would indeed be to simply revert the visual recoil back to its former state. - creepnpeep1 year agoSeasoned Ace@RanzigeRidder2 Yup.
“Improvements” is not the word they should be using.
They would have done better to say “fixes”.
They broke something that didn’t need touching.
Then they waste their time sorting it all out.
And I also have a feeling that they won’t be reverting it at all.
I suspect they will just adjust the recoil on select weapons.
The trailer for that crimson event (or whatever it is) shows that the new recoil is still in the game.
You can see it when the soldiers are shooting in some of the trailer.
Either that trailer was made a while back, or it’s confirmation that they don’t have any intention to revert the recoil changes. - UP_Hawxxeye1 year agoLegend
Remember the days back when game devs sometimes actually interacted directly with their players in official forums? I feel really old now.
I would really love some civilized banter with the people who brought us the recoil changes.

Straight from the patch notes:
Visual Weapon Recoil improvements were introduced in Season 7, and through your feedback it was clear there must be further refinement of this feature. Update 7.0.1 was a hotfix aimed at resolving some of the core issues, such as the interactions with the Avancys, and as previously communicated Update 7.1.0 will include a wide pass that will correct most of the player reported issues surrounding Visual Weapon Recoil.
- Visual recoil on multiple weapons, sights and specific weapon/sight combinations have been adjusted, including deviation of reticle to screen center, on the following weapons: G428, BSV-M, SVK, VCAR, M39 EMR, P90, DM7, DXR-1, RPT-31, PKP-BP, AK 5C, M240B, BFP.50.
- Weapon Sights: Raven 4X, TV 2X, Ghost Hybrid 1.25-2.5x, M11 6X, PSO-1M3, BKS 8X, XCE Scope, K8 Holo, Kobra, Reflex, ACOG, SHAN 2.5X, 8R Holo, Fusion Holo.
- Sidearms: TV 2X, SHAN, K8 Holo.

I still wont understand why they made such a huge change when they were going to cut the services a couple months later.

I have heard that some old passenger jet planes are used for experiments involving a controlled crash landing to see how much which part of the plane will get damaged by how they decide to crash the plane like.
The cynical part of my brain thinks that they got some orders to see how much damage 2042 will take if they changed the gunplay at this time. - MADMAC50K1 year agoSeasoned Ace
Remember when they changed the afterburners on the jets slightly and all the pilots cried, so DICE reversed the changes within 48 hours?
Funny how the same doesn't happen when it's a pretty major **** up on the infantry side.....
- sk1lld1 year agoLegend
I'm hoping for a full revert of the reticle change, adjustment of this massive headache inducing nerf is not enough.

Visual recoil : 🤮

The Afterburners are still messed up. Just slightly less than with the initial change..
So you should expect something similar for the visual recoil : Still messed up though slightly less.
I understand that some really good vehicle users have annoyed you, but aside from Nightbird, the vehicle experience with every other ground or air vehicle is the worst is has been since I started in BF3. Never before in my BF career have I spend less time using vehicles, they are either short lived or just feel horrible to use.
- RanzigeRidder21 year agoLegend@UP_Hawxxeye Or expect they fix some and break something else, now that would be a first for Dice….NOT!
