Roadmap?
I'm not trying to be a troll but am sincerely curious is a roadmap coming? I just feel this might relieve a lot of angst in community right now, not all of it naturally but a lot.
Community manager TOTALfps clarified his, "Not talked about a whole lot in the community" comment in a later tweet. He said he was referring to persistent lobbies where everyone in the match is kept together when the map changes at the end of a round.
My question is how does DICE plan to have a map rotation without persistent lobbies? I find it troubling that neither the community managers nor DICE appear to view map rotation as a major issue.
@OskooI_007But that's...been discussed here quite a bit too. So I don't buy it and it continues to reinforce the perception that DICE CM's don't even read their own bloody forums.
We know they don't use these forums to communicate or engage with the community, so this is essentially just a place for players to complain about how DICE as they continue to act like this is the first videogame they've ever made and that they have no idea what they're doing.
Literally zero truth in DICE or their CM's, I don't believe a word they say unless it's actually backed up with actions, and thus far next to nothing they've said has been backed up by actions. They need to earn that trust back, and they're doing absolutely nothing to achieve that goal. Quite to the contrary, they continue to appear intent on destroying any faith, confidence, or trust in the studio or anything they say.
Know what might help y'all, DICE? Sharing a roadmap so you can gather early feedback from the community.
Unless the studio is literally capable of only doing one thing at a time, which it sure seems like it given that we're two weeks out from the "feedback loop" and still waiting for the loop to "close" with a response from DICE, or kick off the next topic.
This game is dying and y'all are pouring more concrete on its corpse every day, DICE.
Just posting yet again in the hope that DICE reads and replies to our request for a BF2042 Roadmap.
Thank you.
kinda hard for them to give us a roadmap if they themselves don't have a plan.
mushroom treatment (feed them s**t and keep them in the dark) is all we get
Their silence is deafening.
At least we're in the same boat with the Halo: Infinite community. No roadmap or communication from 343, game's got some serious issues that are unaddressed (real bad desync), and no new content in the first 3 months post-launch. I get it, content takes time to make and the old models of monthly updates weren't sustainable since it required constant crunch from the team and that sucks and isn't fair to them.
But at least we have some company in our misery in watching an IP we love get * on and ignored by the teams working on them nowadays.
Start hitting them up on Twitter as apparently that is their got-to communication, I guess.
Once again, their original intention was a lie. Every blog we gave them the benefit of the doubt and they do the exact opposite of what they promised. Better communication etc. I unfollowed all of the designers on Twitter. They never really responded to anything unless its an obvious bug ("yes we are aware and it will get fixed in teh next update").
It would be best to scrap 2042, write a post mortem to explain what went wrong and move on. At least I would prefer this over dangling some rotten carrot in my face for the rest of year...👿
BUT WE HAVE FRIDAYNIGHTBATTLEFIELD!!! Communicated in Discord, which again, DICE, is the worst place for any official communications possible.
Y'all need to invest in some professional development for your community team.
@EA_Atic, Discord is a terrible place for communications like this. Really, it's awful. Please communicate somewhere that the BF community can see this publicly without relying on folks in the Discord to screencap and share it.
Yeah, this is beyond ridiculous. Unless you are a streamer or someway related to the game (publicizing custom servers), EA/DICE will not respond to you. However, if you are, they do, Straatford 40 minutes ago:

Since he couldn't even read his own scoreboard, the player he thought had 69 pts and only had 59, the joke was on him, so I replied:

@edgecrusherO0Pretty funny that this is suppose to be the official BF2042 forums and we seems to be treated as second class citizens with no communication from the BF team, just the odd tidbit to keep us going.
As some of us do not follow the cliche of the social media norms and see the "official communication of BF2042" on these platforms, which is still nothing.
Friday Night Battlefield is just the fanboys playing together nothing to see there.
Sadly we are being treated as second class citizens and we only receive information second hand, or in most cases we receive the cold shoulder and are kept in the dark.
Wild that the community has to spend weeks begging for industry standard practices. Or literally any evidence to show that DICE gives a single * about this game or the community that wasted their money on it.

They don't see any reason to care because the game has been panned universally and it has not been a financial success that was hoped by the higher ups. The changes that are needed for this game require a massive & competent team to accomplish.
Have a skeleton crew just upkeep the game with minimal effort for another year or two before they move on to a new title.

Huh, so some secret playtest session happened a few weeks back. And maybe some communications this week.
DICE, y'all had better put Tom on the payroll because he's doing a better job of giving the community any reason to feel optimistic for this game than the 4-5 paid CM's you have working on this game and saying absolutely nothing about it.
Your CM's are running a master class in how to fail at every aspect of the job, including the use of personal social media accounts for official communications, resulting in peopl expecting to find them there and being frustrated when it's all unrelated tweets.
Edit: I misread, the communication will be from him. Though him saying "battlefield 2042/battlefield" has me more worried that DICE is gonna abandon this game and us idiots that wasted money on it will get nothing but disappointment and a lesson to never give DICE money again.
Interesting. I get play test emails from EA but never sign up for them because the email never states which game is being play tested.
Initial playtest notifications almost never give specifics on the titles you'll play as they want people willing to generally test, not pick and choose for early content - You can have an inkling, like if they ask about phone details or if you like to play shooters but it's normally the follow-up emails (if you're selected) where you'll know what is being played.
Playtests are constantly happening and anyone can sign up for them so nothing shady is going on lol - "Tom Henderson" is only ever half right at best using typical palm reader-esque tactics
Any updates on a roadmap?
We don't need dates, we get that the minute a date comes out, and you don't meet it, you are overselling and underdelivering.
However, we are already passed that point.
A vague roadmap for the next year leading into S1 would at least bring some life back into the community that is currently on life support.
What can we expect at the strategic level for this game over the next 12 months?
