Scope glint is too much

The scope glint is too bright on this game. Honestly I think it needs remove entirely but I know some people would complain about it being removed. Why is it in the game? I know it's so other players can see the sniper especially if they are camping somewhere, but why? You see there name when you look at them, you can usually see the bullet tracer when they shoot at you, hell if they kill you, the kill screen highlights them red and points in the direction they are in. So it's not hard to figure out where they are based on those features alone. So why does there need to be this huge spot light coming from their scope. It's not realistic for one. But if they need to have it, the brightness needs turned down a lot. It's so bright and makes sniping very stupid and borderline unfun in this game. As soon as you look at a group of enemies and they see the big * spot light from your scope, they all immediately start shooting at you, usually killing you. Unless you're all the way in the back of the map.

@UP_Hawxxeye Lots of people stop to shoot or move in straight lines. After playing online as long as I have, you pick up on these tendencies and exploit them. They'll jump if they're actively fighting someone else, it's the rest of the time they follow patterns.

Drop C5 and let a player spot you. 95% chance they give chase and blow up. I've grabbed flags in UT99 and used cover to double back because too many think you'll make a beeline home. Weak snipers forget to move so aim for the reflection. Um, there's just a lot of little things.

Was about to say a sniper rifle was one of my top weapons but I edged it out with the railgun. Cool.

Sadly the really good snipers can aim shoot and cover before the glint even appears for the receiving party.

Personally I almost exclusively do counter sniping when I am using a sniper rifle or the railgun and will use a x4/5 scope to avoid broadcasting my location to those I am looking for

@ZRuff46To answer you question, it is needed when snipers are aiming at you. And it shows up only after certain zoom levels. I don't how how much. Some said 4 x, some said 5x and on. I'd like to know.

I agree that the effect is too much because on the side of the person being shot at, the effect is so bright and large that I can't see where to shoot. There should be a transparency or size reduction, when we are aiming at that area.

    Right now it is blinding.

The glint starts at 6x. 5x and below has no glint.

If they want to keep it in the game, fine. However the brightness should be cut in half, maybe even more. That way when people want to snipe, the whole map doesn't have to worry about a giant spotlight clearly broadcasting their location and making them everyone's target. I was playing Breakthrough on discarded and I was on the large ship in the middle sniping at players. I literally had a half dozen people and a tank shooting at me. Honestly it was probably more than that. I wasn't super far away from the objective but I wasn't super close either. I was probably like 150-200 meters away. They were hitting their shots very close to me to the point I couldn't actually snipe. If you're a 1000meters away  sure the scope glint doesn't matter since it'd be hard for someone to hit you, but it's extremely hard for you to hit anyone. So in order to snipe you need to be fairly close therefore, you are gonna be everyone's target. Snipers use to be used waaaaaaaaaaay more than they are in this game. I honestly can't remember the last time I was killed by one on 2042. Well not counting the NTW 50 since everyone that uses that usually is a cod quick scoping wannabe.

@UP_Hawxxeye That's how you're supposed to do it but too many keep looking around without realizing they're giving themselves away.

That's why I liked having multiple loadouts, I notice these things.
  • To be fair, if we had at least some tool to scope out the battlefield in somewhat higher detail then it wouldnt be a problem in the slightest, but 4x zoom just really isnt that much to see what the state of action is on say a 200m far away objective. 4x, while excessive, is still a somewhat usable scope for close-mid range. if there'd just be a way to scope out the map without putting a flare in your own face would be nice. all things considered, even soflam doesnt work since it gives off a bright red flare, similar to the glint of the sniper scopes. was it really that hard to just add Binos to the recon class? so they can actually do some fckn recon? and once again, The fact that almost every weapon laserbeams from the same distances a mid range sniper would usually snipe from is so incredibly stupid, i can be on one of the buildings on kaleidoscope and some RM68 loverboy on the C point (conquest) can basically countersnipe me. its so dumb. theres just definitely either not enough damage falloff or not enough bullet deviation on distance. the only thing that shouldnt have bullet deviation is the gvt and the snipers, considering they are literally meant for 1 chance accuracy.
