I agree, never really liked the scope glint mechanic either.
The technology to remove scope glint has been around for decades but somehow that knowledge was lost by 2042 I guess.
I think when people really sit and analyze it it is a very ridiculous addition to playing the game, this current option of a "flashlight" on your head is so silly it's obnoxious; and the devs do know this, so lets STOP all the silliness and make this good game even better.
All that is required is for the dev team to listen to reality. I get wonderfully frustrated when I get blasted by an unknown sniper, and then the hunt is on, so lets all stop the silliness in the scope reflection, it is so far from reality it's just DUMB.
If they improved the sound so you could actually hear what direction your being shot from, I would agree. Until then this is the easiest solution.
In reality when being shot at there is the crack past your head as the round is super sonic,( if your lucky) then the "bang' to indicate direction. Depending on the environment it can be very hard to get an exact direction, but the bang can put you in the right direction for the most part. I have been shot at sub sonic and that's a real *, 😉
Yes a bang in the right direction would be an asset in a "game" but I'll settle for the removal of flashlights from the head to start with.
