So they announced the recent update after total silence since * November. And what do they have to tell us PvE players? To basically go * ourselves. No progression for us on Portal and I doubt AOW So...

You can, but full progression is still restricted and you are forced to play PvP if you want to get anywhere which is absolutely bloody stupid.
@Maxthewicked100 I have played PvP in Portal/AOW and PvE in Solo/Co-op, which is extremely restricted. And yes, stupid all around. Just take off all restrictions and let people play the way that they want.

I was interpreting the image as saying you can use the bots that are included by default with some of the game modes when setting up a portal server and get weapon / vehicle unlocks, but this might not be the case. As in my understanding was you could have bots but you couldn't change them to easy, but you are probably right and they just mean no AI altogether.
I will check tomorrow, if you are correct, that is super lame.

There are no modes in the custom Portal setup that include AI by default that I know of. IME, the default has always been zero requiring me to change that if I want them included.
He is right..... They are saying if you change a custom Portal Experience to include AI, you will only get the capped XP and nothing else.
Yep I was thinking they were letting us play with the options in the attached image (indicated orange) if AI was kept on default, not allowing the other modifiers (indicated blue).
However, I misread the twitter post, and I'm quite sure Maxthewicked is correct - turning AI on turns off progression.
Essentially I played around with setting up portal game modes when the game released but haven't for the past month and a half so I forgot AI wasn't on by default.
So you are also correct that AI isn't on by default which is dumb. I guess I'm just used to seeing so much AI in AoW that I assumed the settings would match up.
I'm now so much less hyped about the update, I figured portal servers would get populated because players would at least be able to turn AI on and play against them whilst waiting for players to join, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
