I had issues too and used to bounce around modes and nothing. Someone, (I forget who but THANK YOU!!!) told me about this trick. Go into Portal and HOST an "Official Experience". I usually pick BC2 Rush and let it start and then I just run through setting MCOMs. Keep checking your badge points. The longer you stay in sometimes the more points you get until eventually you catch up.
