The new battle pass progression is terrible.
Basically it discourage you to play because no matter how good you do, you can only progress a couple of points per round, and it's just getting worse the more you progress.
The only progress that matters is the weekly mission. After you finish, you are done for the week, no point playing more.
Great job again DICE! You created a great map in season 6 in my opnion, then you messed up again with the progression. Always one step forward, two steps back.
And the ironic thing is DICE is asking the feeback for new weapons. Sure, those who spent money to skip ties can definitely answer. But I do purchase the premium pass only, I'll only answer your feedback in a few month if I ever get to unlock those weapons.

Absolutely comical how this company can continue to break things that weren't broken (even though some of my progression hasn't moved in a year).
The Battle Pass progression was fine where it was at. The XP mission increased as you gained tokens and would be close to 30K for a single token near the last week of the season.
Someone clearly doesn't know how to math, because they thought that if we had 16 weeks, 2 to 4 extra depending on the previous seasons that they could essentially give out 25% less progression for the same amount of play time. However, initially, based on all previous seasons, the first 30 or so levels of the Battle Pass were achieved within the first week. That unlocked most of the new content and you only had one or two more items to go. Most players had all the unlocks for weapons/vehicles in the first 2-3 weeks. Now we are looking at 6-8 weeks at best.
Another flop, but there is no reason to expect anything different from this studio. It is a constant stream of L's.

I stand corrected, it is 38% less.
Previously you started at 2500, now at 6500 per token for the XP mission. Right off the bat, that's a 38% reduction.......
I was on double XP with the 20% boost, had 34K for the round and got 4 tokens, because at some point in my first few rounds, it was enough to move the slider to 7K per token.I am on BP Level 4.
This is the most hilarious progression stuff I have ever seen in a game. Like someone thought this was a good idea and actually implemented it in a multi-million dollar title, 2 years into the game's lifecycle.
Even after the change, if all the rewards are a flat 4 for each tier, thats 36 + the bonus 10. So 46 per week. If you did that for 16 weeks, you would have 736 tokens. That leaves 414, which doesn't seem bad, but those are achieved thru the XP mission that starts at 6500 and increases at the same interval as previous seasons. Based on the average mission XP for the entire season, it will take you over 9,300,000 XP to achieve those 414. That is basically 600K XP every week for 16 weeks or 85K per day, every day, for 112 days. Since you get a daily 10K bonus for the first round of the day, you technically have to earn 75K per day playing. On non-2XP days, a normal player earns about 15K per round. So it will take you 5 rounds per day to get T1. The average rounds are 20 mins, so that's an hour and 40 minutes per day every day for those 112 days (186 hours of playtime).

Thank you for your very informative post. Since launch of the season I was hoping you'd do the calculations, like in the other seasons.
That's very helpfull. 🙌

I'm gonna need 300 days.
Could we have some ultimate/legendary/gold/platinum/special edition of the battlepass, including a leave of absence?
