@UP_LordPlumberIt was bound to happen. There are still loyal fans that want and I believe deserve more. But I also think now is the time for the team to open up portal, solo/co-op to unlimited XP/Progression. Let the players be able to build a map their own way without any restrictions. This will keep the fans happy and still playing until the next release.100% this. 👍
Games still broken, I take the cancelation of the game as EA/Dove throwing the towel in that they cannot fix it.

@RanzigeRidder2I would give it till about October/November which would be around about the time we would expect a season 8 and we will prob see numbers drop off.
Lets say next BF is coming November 2025 thats nearly 19 months at least people will get bord really quick. For real. That's what I am most nervous about. Its a long time without any new content so I expect the player base to take good hit.

I am like everyone here, I was a little disappointed that BF2042 Season 7 will be the Final. I guess Dice or EA decided to cut the cord, Season 8 would have helped bridge the gap between games, especially with the extremely low Map content. I still Love the Battlefield Franchise and am always looking forward to gaming in the New Title with my Friends, but and this is a Big one, Repeating mistakes is not a path forward! Battlefield V was not enjoyable for the first year+ and now BF2042 after a year and half(estimated) but we do have a voice, some just choose to ignore us!

Really wanted 8 to gap us to the trailer for the next one
I doubt I'll be playing 2042 very often once Season 7 wraps up. I know they plan to run events and challenges, etc, but honestly, what's the point? 2042 has been an disappointing BF game and I think I'd enjoy going back to BF5 or even BF1.
Either way it's going to be a very long wait until we even get news about the next game, let alone a release date. We are all hoping late 2025, but we don't know that for sure
How did this all happen? How did this game get screwed up so spectacularly? I would really love to know the discussions that went on when planning for this game started. Who actually said, let's introduce Specialists, let's not worry about a server browser, let's do away with the class system. I cannot believe it was anyone at DICE, surely it was someone clueless from EA who thought BF could be transformed into a "fun" battle royale hero shooter and pull in loads of cash through microtransactions?

That would be a pretty cool 3 part series on Max/Amazon. I would watch it

Upper management not listening to the devs and pushing through their ‘vision’
Watch this video where GhostGaming discusses some Glassdoor reviews of (former)Dice employees. It gives a good insight on how we ended up with this.

Great video, hopefully EA takes note and steers the ship in the right direction. But someplace in me doubts it. - OskooI_0072 years agoSeasoned Ace

Interesting. So DICE not only doesn't listen to their fans, they also don't listen to their employees either. DICE ignores everybody it seems.
Shroud said DICE ignored him too.
Sadly this makes me feel a little better since DICE has been ignoring me as well. At least now I know they ignore everybody including their employees.
Being ignored as a fan is annoying. I can't imagine how annoying it is to be ignored by the company you're working for.
