The consoles are at a locked refresh-rate (i think 60Hz) and PCs can have varying refresh-rates, yet the server tickrate is locked on 45Hz yet at times it seems to run worse then BF4 servers with 30Hz....
i do not know what causes the game to feel so bad but i wouldn't be suprised if the console-versions especially the old-gen consoles are bottelnecking the ever living heck out of what DICE can achieve..
Should the next Battlefield game be console only? A big fat NO.
Battlefield began on PC and the best aspects of the franchise are a result of PC clan-centric teamplay.
If they make a console only version it will be used as an excuse to dumb down and push the direction of the game closer to CoD.
Its already been like that for a while, but this would happen at an extremely accelerated pace.
I play on console and the best thing about BF2042 is that I play against PC players.
If this wasn't an option there would not be enough players in my region to play.
Furthermore, playing against PC players increases the skill ceiling - I used to get top 3 every game in BF5 / BF1 / BF4 with little effort on console.
Now if I get top 3 its because I did some wicked [Edited by moderation]
The aim assist was totally stuffed when the game came out but if anything they have compensated too much and its too easy to get accurate shots with aim assist - I have to turn it down to get head shots.
They should just add mouse and keyboard support to console, have crossplay and non-crossplay games indicated with an icon so both are visible at the same time on server browser and avoid the previous gen consoles for any future release.
