Nope no campaign.
Portal is still the only thing on offer for people looking for a single player experience in 2042.
Supposedly the new DICE Seattle studio lead by Marcus Letho is to be focused on the 'storytelling' side of the Battlefield franchise. I interpret that to mean single player campaign. I'd guess we are 2+ years before we see anything from them.

Nope... still no campaign..and it aint gonna happen with this game. So it's better to save your money for a better game. - ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@Mackstan71 You speak truth IMO
- ElliotLH3 years agoHero+@Artax04 There aren't any plans to add a campaign to 2042.
Solo/Coop/PvE is the new and more modern single player experience which was put into place as a replacement for the typical and tired linear campaigns of old.
Now, as a devout PvE player (I loathe competitive PvP) I can understand why some players enjoy an actual story driven campaign...but not me, I never like the same old boring stories and extremely linear play on offer with campaigns.
I sincerely hope that IF they decide to bring back a campaign in their next title, that they will only do it as an addition to the Solo/Coop/PvE feature implemented here in 2042. For me, the only reason to own and play this game is so I can play all the multiplayer maps against bots, either alone or with my friends... this is the way it was back in BF2/BF2142, and IMO it should always stay this way now that bots are back.
Please, do not go back to the old formula where there's only a campaign and nothing else!
- kregora3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Artax04 There is no single player campaign, and I doubt there will be one.
At the moment the storytelling is inconsistent at best, but most of it is bollox. There may be some narrative from the Hazard Zone perspective, but I wouldn't know.
The Standed Tanker story for the Breakthrough mode makes no sense after all. @BigShotttI actually enjoy playing campaign single player games whether it be from EA or Activision. I feel strangely robbed if it isnt there and I always play it first before multiplayer. It is a great way to get into the story and also a good way to practice up your skills before getting into the online battles. As far as Battlefield goes I dont really miss the campaign because when I'm looking at the bigger picture I feel that I have missed the whole game.
- @Artax04 Agreed, These companies have completely failed to listen or do right by we the players. No single player? NO MONEY from this family or friends and while that means nothing to them it involves around 60 players and all they know as well. All the excuses iin the world does not change the truth which was simply lazyness on their part and not the first time they tries this.
It's sad to me since I had been a great supporter of EA and Dice etc. Never again until single player comes back.... Then it better have a huge apology and game experience included. - EA_Mako2 years ago
