Not sure if trolling, as my experience is the exact opposite, sniping in BF 2042 is very very lackluster. My k/d consistenly takes a massive nosedive every time I use a sniper rifle, and I don't think my aiming skill magically disappears every time I start sniping. Landing headshots is extremely difficult on moving targets, even a body shot is quite difficult because of the erratic soldier movement model they've chosen once again, there's absolutely no momentum, you can instantly change direction and maintain full speed. I always see assaults/supports/engineers with automatic weapons ADAD spamming while firing quite accurately up to long range, yeah good luck landing a headshot on that, it's like trying to hit a bouncing pinball with a dart.That's pretty much how I lose almost every single time.
Also, the DXR is the one sniper rifle designed for extreme range, so of course it has to have high muzzle velocity. A sniper rifle with low muzzle velocity and strong drop is useless and contradicts it's own role of being the most optimized weapon for long range.
@Kunstula O yeah I know you get that really good players that's able to run, strafe, spin, *, jump, and crouch his way to cover that's insane to watch (it looks even worse on his screen), many times it will get them noticed and killed by a close by player. Patience with these targets or simply switch to less suspecting Target then maybe come back to them. Thankfully McKay's nimble got nerfed a while back so he's not the pro sniper strafer anymore. Also, for all us console players it helps to go into settings and fine tune each sensitivity for the different magnifications of scopes and at the correct times switch to lower magnification scopes to rid of your scope glint. Now even the 4x scopes like the raven 4x and Acog 4x have scope glint (the target 8t 4.5x most definitely did have glint but apparently doesn't currently have it, bugged). So I recommend the M22 3.5X sight, it has a better reticle anyways.
