Why would you want there not to be some bots to fill up the server so you can play properly even if people ragequit?
If the bots are good enough they may also push more for objectives that the average bad team that falls back to K/D farm if the going gets tough

@UP_HawxxeyeI don't have a problem with bots no, I'm just pointing out what the article said that there is no way to turn them off for the time being, I just hope their AI isn't tracking you down like the terminator knowing exactly where you are wherever you go. I'm all for bots filling up servers to help them get populated by other players joining.
- UP_Hawxxeye5 years agoLegend@TankerFlanker yes it would be pretty bad if they magically know where they are.
But from experience with the combiend arms in BFV, thankfully the bots probably will neither magically know where you are nor are they a hivemind.- TankerFlanker5 years agoSeasoned Ace@UP_Hawxxeye Let's hope so, maybe they'll actually revive and give out ammo lol.

Because you already got the problem. If they are so good, that they are better than the average low-score player in Battlfield, then they will leave the game. So we get even more bots. If they are worse than those players, then why do we need them?
Those bots will be bad, i call that. We will recognize in the Beta. Same thing, that happened with BFV, happens here again. Dice learned nothing. Instead of keeping the stuff, that made this game great, they add a lot of new things and keep the bad stuff.
You had BF3/4: "Good" Balanced gameplay overall, good map design and class system. Customization was bad, compared to the 2021 standard. Community servers / RSP fixed most of the problems.
BF1: Immersion was amazing, they did a good job, with a difficult scenario. Map design was getting worse (Base *, no cover). Customization was worse than in BF3/4, but mostly due to the scenario. No more RSP by the way. Vehicle-Classes were new.
BFV: Awful immersion, lot of clown skins, massively unbalanced, but Customization is great. They tried some attrition stuff, no one liked it (for legit reasons, what a stupid idea) and they changed the game a few times.
BF2042: Lets screw the overall class system, for some lame "specialists" (where 3/4 already got "solo" items) no one asked for and a stupid battlepass. Maps are 4 times the "regular" size, but we only got twice the amount of players. One of the good things about BFV (customization) is screwed, because we get fixed characters.
They learned nothing from the mess. If you think again about those trailers, they are exactly the same like BFV, yet everyone "loves" them. Pure marketing, but i doubt, that this game will be great or what the "community" wanted. Everyone is asking for BF3/BF4 style, instead we get a COD-like BF with Heros.
PS: Don't take it personally, i don't want to attack you or something like that. I just don't know, why people are still trusting this company and say "yes" to everything. By the way: They don't even care about their own forums, instead they are listening to the "reddit crowd"
- 5 years ago@TickTack121 DICE/EA are chasing players that dont play and or like BF games. The problem is to do this, they have to make the game less like a Battlefield game. The devs dont seem to be trying to make the best BF game they can, they seem to be trying to make a game to entice non BF players. Obviously we have only seen a trailer and have been drip fed very little info, so wont know how it looks and plays for a little while yet. For all its faults, and there were many, BFV still felt like a BF game, but the changes BF2042 have the potential for the game to move even further away from BF past. It may make for a fun game, and all this 'angst' is misplaced, we'll have to wait and see.

@ninjapenquinukYou have to remember that 1942 came out in 2002… before some of BF2042s future players were even born.
EA DICE have to keep enticing new players or the game / series will surely die. Now, I agree with you that there must be a fine balance between respecting and implementing the past games that got us here, but they have to try new things to keep it interesting and attractive to a younger, new-to-Battlefield audience.

After like 8 rounds in BFV in a team full of "average low-score players" vs teams with clan squads, I would rather those zombie players to quit and find a game that suits them more.
I know it sounds harsh but I just have fun being stuck with people who just get farmed and either claim the vehicle slots or spend time calling their betters hackers.
Earlier I was in a staghound in Rotterdam and I saw gunfire flash around a corner so I shot a shell at that corner and because I killed the one just around the corner with a blast I was called hacker for the entire round. I could live without such players
