So who are these 'veterans' that get invites to the playtest?

I've been reading about 'veterans' that got invited to testing BF2042, and I'm really wondering who's getting in and how is determined that they're a veteran. I really get the feeling that nowadays ...

@kregora Yeah that completely confirms my thoughts. People aren't picked based on their veteran status. Why this misinformation is so widespread, really makes me wonder what else isn't true.
